Asthma remedies

Hello, my name is Samuel. I have Asthma. I would like to ask if anyone knows home remedies or Chinese remedies for asthma. I have inhalers and maintenance but I would like to try the non-conventional way. Thanks! Hope someone answers me..

While I was browsing the internet, I came across words that are misspelled. Common word is neice.

Re: Asthma remedies

Actually the modern western medicines are the only thing that can reliably control asthma..

A recent study comparing Modern medicine, placebo, acupuncture and doing nothing showed that only modern drugs had any useful effect on asthma.

I tried, at great expense, an acupuncturist who claimed she could fix my asthma. After following her direction and treatment nothing happened. No change. Don't even bother breaking out the 'maybe she wasn't one of the legitimate ones' sillyness. She came well recommended by plenty of people who claimed she was legit. In fact every zhongyi will have a cult following of people who claim that this one is different and better while most of the others are just fakes.

I have found salbutamol to be literally a lifesaver. The only other medicine I have ever noticed to have an effect is illegal almost everywhere. But for the few years where I used it regularly I never needed anything else to control my asthma.

Re: Asthma remedies

In Beijing, you might need to get a good air filter -- for both home and the office. It is brutal out there.

You may need to move away from here in the long run if you have serious asthma because of the air conditions.

Re: Asthma remedies

I second that with the above poster. When I was in my teens my folks in the decided to go down the TCM route and through great expense buying all sorts of chinese herbs and remedies in order to make a dark pungent concoction.

That stuff was gross!!!

and in the end it was for nothing becuase 10 years on I still need my inhaler before excercising.

Re: Asthma remedies

Thanks for the comments. Actually, salbutamol is also very effective for me. Looks like fresh air is the only other way sa that I wont have asthma attacks..
