Security advice!

I need some advice. I have been deciding what type of security system to put in my house. I came across some information on adt home alarms and I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with their systems? Do they beep when a door or window opens?

ADT does offer that service if you're looking for a beep at the doors and windows. But don't expect anything more than that from them. They will not alert the police to investigate. And even if they did, the police would not bother. What exactly are your requirements?

Yeah, ADT will just cause beeping to go off. It won't contact you or the police or anything. So for a LOT cheaper you can get one of those battery powered alarm sets. We got one at Walmart in the States, and then Radio Shack last year, because they came with window alarms, too. They do the same thing (here), go off inadvertently less and are much cheaper.
Or, get a medium sized dog. Based on how terrified the locals are of anything bigger than a Peke, a cocker spaniel should strike terror into the hearts of any intruder.
