Overstayed Visa...Gotta go to HK...will it work?
I overstayed my visa by a month (long story) but I payed my 5,000 rmb and I am receiving a three-day visa to allow me to get out of the country, which I had to supply a plane ticket for.
I'm leaving for Hong Kong tomorrow evening. My plan is to go and apply for a 30 day tourist visa, and be back by Friday.
I'm just terrified they will see my overstay (which actually looks like it was a 4 month overstay) and they will refuse me for a tourist visa.
Does anyone know how hard it is these days to get a tourist visa in HK? I'm American...

@lambaa
So how did your trip to HK go? Any luck getting a new visa after overstaying in China?
Well, they'd definitely see your overstayed visa for sure and they know the exit visa that the PSB gives. But don't worry, they'd know exactly how long you've overstayed and they do give considerations as well.
Be really wary if you've gotten the red star mark, but you should be prepared for any refusal of visas still.
Cheers!

It should be okay to get a tourist visa there, if not, you can find some agency there to help you, shouldn't be hard.
You can do some research before you go, many agents in HK

partial success!!
They gave me a 15 day L visa, which I'm changing to a 30 day through an agency next week....i'll have a total of 8 consecutive visas in my passport, i'm hoping this won't look bad when i apply for my work visa...
