L to Z visa

Hi,

I need some advise on my current visa situation.
I am from Germany and at the moment I am here on a L visa (already had one extension).
I just started a teaching job and the recruitment agents through whom I got this job offered to sort out my Z visa. They will pay for the visa but here is the catch: as soon as I quit my job they will make me pay back the money for the Z visa (at least parts of it).
I certainly understand their policy. However, they claim that the cost for a 1 year Z visa will be 9000 RMB and thus the amount I would have to pay back is rather large.
The thing is that I most likely wont work here for a full year. I much rather work full time for a few months then find a part time job and go to a language school.

I am now wondering how much it really is for a 1 year Z visa. I guess I could get another visa consultant to sort out my Z visa by just getting all the documents from the school I work for without involving the agent.
Will the Z visa still be valid after quitting my current job?

Is it possible to work with a F visa?
Are there any other possibilities?
Many thanks for your help.

Re: L to Z visa

A normal working visa application with their own employer won't cost that much. So you should think about it.

Working with Z/Residence Permit is legal, others are not. But the fact is there are people holding F visa teaching parttime.

Re: L to Z visa

I'm currently on a one-year Z visa. Your agent charges far too much. My employer paid about 2000 to the agent who helped me sort out the visa issue. I paid 650 the get the health certificate and have to leave China to my L visa for a Z visa.

Once you get your Z visa (in fact a work permit), technically you should work with the sponsing employer but no one is really fuzzy about it. As I notice, it seems you could in fact work with any type of visas as long as they are still valid and your employer doesn't care about your status.

Good luck.

"Fuzzy" means "vague." I think you mean "fussy." Please tell me you don't teach English.

Re: L to Z visa

Acctually, once you get Employment Licence or Expert permit, you do not need to go out to apply for the work visa, we can help you to change L/F or even student visa to work visa without leaving China, The cost for changing visa to Z visa in China is definitely cheaper than going out.

If you have any questions about visa ,please feel free to let me know.
