Anybody want to learn how to wrestle?

I was curious since I found out wrestling in China is virtually unknown. Unlike the states where wrestling is one of our sports growing up. We wrestle in middle school, highschool, and college. So I was wondering if anybody is in to martial arts would you like to learn any wrestling moves? Wrestling is a very useful style of control of a human being in a fight or whatever trying to defend yourself. Does any form of martial arts teach you how to get out of a hold when someone is holding you from the back? I've seen some martial arts and the way they show how to get out of holds is unrealistic. If a man that is much larger than you is holding you that form will not work. In wrestling there is a technique to get a large man off you even if they are on the ground. The moves are called the standing switch and the fat mans roll. Ever wonder what to do when someone is in your face? The move is called changing levels. You can get lower than the person to use leverage to lift them up and control them on the ground.
Have you ever seen a match where a guy is holding the other guys leg and he cannot get the guy on the ground? The reason for this is because what we learn in wrestling wherever the head goes the body must follow. That means the guy that cannot get the guy to the floor is more than likely being controlled and the way to solve that is to make sure you control the guys body by controlling his head. You push a guys head to the right his body moves to the right. You push a guy to the left his body moves to the left. The result is an opening an off balance person that you can easily control because first I pushed his head to the right his body followed and I followed as he was off balance thus successfully getting a takedown.

There is a way to manipulate a person while getting there legs. Its has to do with the position of your arms. The ability to go from left to right. And for the opponent to not know what way you will go. Its the crossing of the arms I can easily go either left or right and the opponent will be left guessing. Whatever way the opponent wants to go you go the opposite and control the position.

We like to transition. This skill we call transitioning is a technique and skill every wrestler must have. The reason for this is because a delay in action could mean stalling and stalling means points to be taken away. We attack the arms with the move Snow Plow If the opponent resists we can use the move the bow and arrow which attacks the body, and if the opponent still resists we can do the grapevine, crossface chicken wing three quarter or half nelson.

In other martial arts the wrist control is not that important almost non existent. But a good wrestler is taught wrist control. The wrist control technique is very useful because it limits the use of a persons hands which people rely on heavily. If you control the wrist of a boxer he could not strike effectively. You could transition from a wrist control position to an arm drag to a duck under or a single to a double leg takedown shot.

Who has taken wrestling before, who is in need of technique to stop someone, who will be trying to compete against somebody, who wants to defend themselves properly, who wants to be in control?! I know I certainly do!

Sounds fun to me!

Re: Anybody want to learn how to wrestle?

It's a lot of fun! Have you ever wondered why when people shoot in they could never get the takedown.

I will tell you now! It is improper technique to keep your head down when shooting and extending your arms.

It's simple: a person that puts there head down is in big trouble because if they put there head down there body will go down. And for the guy being shot on. All he has to do is push his head down further. With the outstretched arms the opponent only has to go underneath his arms to a 3 quarter nelson push his head away and take his back.

That is why it is important when shooting for a takedown to put as little space between your arms as possible so the opponent does not have a chance to get an underhook. And always you drive your forehead straight and drive into the opponent. The forehead should not be looking up only if it is a lift and never down unless the opponent is down and you have his back and thus you can do the snowplower or bowanarrow to get a better position.

Why are you talking to yourself with multiple IDs?

It's retarded and childish.

I don't know about wrestling, but I like to watch boxing!

Do you box Mattaya? A real man should at least know one violent sport, preferably boxing, reminds me of Hemingway. Kiss

I have never boxed with anybody but there was a training ring on the military base I grew up in. I could just go in there lace up the gloves and hit the punching bag it was fun! I like boxing too but I never boxed with anybody! The last person that asked me to box when I was in the Airforce boxed with some guy that we both worked with around a fence. I guess the guy hit him and he fell and scrapped his face on a part of the wire fence and cut his face up leaving him with a terrible scar that was long as hell. His girlfriend cheated on him and he was left with no girlfriend and a scar the length of his face.

So I decided not to play around a fence. But I do like boxing as well.
