I'm heading to Beijing soon to start a job and am curious about the lay of the land regarding music equipment and instruments. Mainly, what are the prices like? Do duty taxs bump much extra on the cost of a non Chinese instrument? Copies and fakes. This was a bit of a problem when I lived in Korea so I'm wondering if anyone has encountered similar problems when buying instruments in Beijing. Lastly, pedels/stompboxes. What are the prices like? I'd love to add to my rack while I'm there but is it worth it? Should I just do my music shopping when I'm abroad.
Ayway, if anyone could help me out with any of these questions it'd be hugely appreciated!
