registered Parcel to china, lost in ....

Hi folks,
my kins sent a registered parcel thru TNT (from Amsterdam) to me in Beijing.
It was shipped (well flown) to China december 20th and since then no traces.
The international tracking code is according to Chinese Post not in their system. How can i figure out where my stuff is? TNT can only tell me it has been shipped and handed over but i guess customs and so on will take 1-2days. how can i find it? my kins issued a tracking investigation with tnt but in china its pretty much without answer.

Re: registered Parcel to china, lost in ....

I did have one go missing last year, no trace nothing, but the contents were questionable so i assumed they just confiscated it.

The mail in China gets worse the more this country develops

Re: registered Parcel to china, lost in ....

well at least on this singular matter it goes en par with most western countries. though in Jing they call you before coming to delivering bigger boxes. tell that or beloved TNT or ROyal Mail or my even more loved anPost in Ireland, which managed to move my parcel around the emerald island for 6 months before returning it to sender

Re: registered Parcel to china, lost in ....

I have had about 15 parcels not make it here, even registered delivery. Nothing questionable inside - just some clothes and gifts for my kids.

My mum sent a parcel for my newborn daughter on the 22nd December and it still hasn't arrived but my godmother sent me something the same day and it arrived a few days ago.

Would it be worth me going to customs directly and asking them? I always worried that the local postal staff are just helping themselves to my stuff!

Re: registered Parcel to china, lost in ....

bollocks, went to customs and they told me to contact the post since its a parcel...logic... sorta.but china post hasnt got the tracking number in their system so far. why can easy things be so bloody annoying. at least in europe i know where to complain and whom to push but here they just tell you off... rudeness is such a gem

Re: registered Parcel to china, lost in ....

my wife once received a package with one shoe missing.

a one legged girl somewhere has my wife's high heel shoe

is it insured FelDH?

since coming to china, I have been lucky that the small number of parcels I have been sent have made it here safely.

Re: registered Parcel to china, lost in ....

Ten years ago most stuff came now 50/50. Of course someone is stealing this stuff in the China post. It is a system that has no regulations. Do they even have postal inspectors? In a place with gutter oil how can one expect fine mail delivery?

Re: registered Parcel to china, lost in ....

That's really true about the mail ten years ago. China would be one country you would get your parcels and letters. I have to say the workers were more competent then, too.
