For The Record

If anyone would bother to delve into the majority of my posts they would find that it is not China or the Chinese people that are the subjects of my wrath. I have stated many times how I feel that the Chinese people are treated badly in this country and I have the highest respect for this nation. I have also expressed woe at the deterioration of Chinese Culture. I am not perfect, none of us are, however, I feel that even when I present my views and they are highly critical I do it in a manner that is not personal and are directed at what I feel to be the source of all China's problems.

I have made it perfectly clear that I love living in China and that I am treated well by the Chinese. My existence here is purely Chinese. I have no western acquaintances. I have few western things. I don't even own a fork or a western style spoon.

I have my objections to the life here. The degree of civility in this country is not up to the standards I was taught. Also, the truth is extremely important to me and the lack thereof in this country is terribly disturbing for me. However, I cannot blame the Chinese people for this situation. My entire objection to all things I disagree with here comes from a place I am unable to change. Read into what I am saying.

If it is the choice of the administrators of this site to ban me I will go quietly and will not, as many have done, register new pseudonyms just to continue to pursue my agenda. This is not my site and I appreciate the opportunity to have been able to express myself in my own fashion here.

Cultures clash that is a reality. I can never be Chinese even though the amount of time I spend living a Chinese existence is incredible. I have my objections and I expect to be able to come here and air those objections without my name being spread across a topic's title. If my expectations are too high then it is up to the administrators to determine my continued involvement here. I leave it in their capable hands and will abide by any decision that they determine is most fitting.

Re: For The Record

wtf,why would the administrators ban you Zhenlai?
Your one of the few people who actually talk any sense on here, yes we have spats and you seem to think that my idiocy can seemingly continuously achieve new heights but respect where respect is due.
I can sympathise with the anger, frustration, call it what you will at how things deteriorate here in China.Even as a relative new-comer I see it rapidly change and the humble chinese seem to have given way (in part at least) to a seemingly altogether different kind of person.
Of course, capitalism and money has most likely had a significant impact onto that and probably more evident here in Beijing and major cities than smaller provincial cities.
Your input is important to the fabric of the forum and I think that the expat community at least will have something to say if your fate is sealed.

Well put, I have to agree, I love living here in China and sure I may complain from time to time about things (to my friends, not usually on this forum) but the people here are great to me, the things that upset me are out of their hands so to speak, the problems come from above.

You want to complain about Zhenlai then complain about his constantly correcting everyones English, sure it is a bit irritating but then again, he is right, 95% of us use crappy English, that includes native born Americans, Canadians, Brits, etc, including myself, this post alone I am sure is filled with mistakes! Re: For The Record

Nice post ZL, but you really have no need to defend yourself, especially to the likes of Pi.

Well said, JLW...

Re: For The Record

Not only is zhenlai not banned, I have given him the fabled "Cloak of Non Banishment." He who wears it can never be banned.

Remmy be pimpin' in BJ, yo!

I want one, do you have an Invisibility cloak as well?

Why do men lie to women so easily? Just because a man just needs to give the start, then the lie is done by the woman herself.
