ZHENLAI THREAD REVISITED

Huan Chu says the thread was deleted because it "degenerated into endless flaming." That pretty well describes about half of the popular threads at any given time. What made this one so special? I've been subject to and have subjected others to worse abuse than anything in that thread. About the sole thing different in the (admittedly misguided) zhenlai thread was some ancient history rehashed about this site's administration allegedly caving in once at the threat of a lawsuit. Is that what you meant by "endless flaming?"

Not exactly, no.
But it's the general sentiment among mods and site staff in general that things need to change on this site, and that thread seemed like as good a place as any to begin that change.
No conspiracy theories here I'm afraid.

1) Restarting a flamewar? I just said that the flaming in that thread was scarcely anything out of the ordinary. Why did this thread come in for special treatment? That's a question, Sweetie, not a flame fling.And it's a fair question too.Heck, my post in that thread was in favor of zhenlai!
2) "Contempt" for a forum moderator is a banning offense in Leon Land? That's about what I've come to expect of you: spineless toadying to anything that looks like authority.Huan Chu is a forum moderator; he's not a Supreme Court justice. I'll bet you ate all your vegetables when you were little and even claimed to like 'em, right?
3) I PM'ed Huan Chu today saying nice things and ate crow about my perhaps unfounded suspicions as to his machinations. Yeah, only an a-hole says does that. Speaking of which, you get enough air with your head crammed all the way up to the shoulders there?
