I ended up going to Korea instead, but I have gone to Mongolia on prior occasions. Going to Mongolia for a visa run isn't difficult.

Handy TIP:

On the ELONG flight purchase website it will say that a flight to erlianhaote costs about 700RMB. About 7 days before the flight it will be REDUCED TO only 230rmb.

There are numerous blog posts online that talk about the visa run further.

If anyone out there has a visa where they need to leave China just to get the exit stamp, I may have an alternative to the visa run.

If you are interested send me a private message on here and will let you know how.

It is safe, legal, and you can earn a little money as well.

I can arrange from Beijing or Shanghai. Shanghai is actually easier to arrange though.

Hey guys

How does the mongolia visa run work exactly. I will have a student (X) visa for 2 months, and then I want to stay in china for another month, so I was looking at getting a tourist visa for the remaining time. Is that possible by leaving to mongolia, and returning again?

Please help!

You should go to Hk if you wan't a Tourist Visa. If you go to hk you should be able to get a 6month (30) entry with no problems depending on your visa, and you can do it yourself. If any one wants direct help In monglia I can help you and provide a border taxi for you while in Erlian, so you won't have to bargin are get cheated while crossing the border.

It's may be a waste of money to take a plane there right now since they only offer 3pm flights, and the airport is not directly near the border. You can take buses, planes, trains there daily. The Mongolian border is closed on most Holidays.
