He/She is just a NORMAL person...
We hear this allot. A normal person. What is the difference between a normal and a abnormal person.
Interested to hear all your viewpoints and/or comments on this subject.
If your hungover and wishing you were dead, then its not so bad. If your hungover and wondering why your not dead it might be bad.

Re: He/She is just a NORMAL person...
Normal is a matter of perception, you might think that someone behaving in one manner is normal but others might not agree... The same way an aggressive looking avatar seems cool to one person but viewed as over defensive by another.

Re: He/She is just a NORMAL person...
There is no such thing as normal in relation to human behaviour, but there is a consensus as to how most people appear to behave in certain circumstances.
Every society has a set of unique characteristics and ways of behaving that some term 'norms'. They change over time.

Re: He/She is just a NORMAL person...
Herbtz = Normal is a matter of perception (So no such thing as abnormal?)
Nugze = There is no such thing as normal in relation to human behaviour. (So no such thing as normal?)
1. Yeah, if a list will help clear it up for me, please generate one. it would be interesting.
2. Who decides what is normal and abnormal? Who has decided the one's who decide this are normal? I'm sure the word majority is not synonomys with the word normal
Sorry, but I still cannot determine what is normal vs abnormal for human beings? Or is it an individual thing? Are we comparing ourselves to how humans acted or reacted historically, which would seem to limit our progress tremendously?
Other usages of this word are clear. For example, the temperature has been abnormally hot these days. Which infurs compared to some historical data.

Do you mean synonymous? Please take a little time to insure you are using the correct words.

Re: He/She is just a NORMAL person...
Yes,I did mean the word synonymous. I cannot promise I will take more time to check my spelling because I am not in school anymore and hence cannot suffer any non favorable consequences.
Further more, I now know how excited it makes you to see mispelled words and I'm pretty confident I have you to correct any future mispellings.
But yes, I had forgotten how to spell it. Even had to look up the word restaurant the other day to remember where to put the "u".
Having been out of the country for the last 16 years and seriously not using English at all, my English language skills have deteriorated to this level. Even my sister claims I am talking like Tarzan when I have a phone conversation with her.
You guessed correctly, I mispelled it, and thanks for reminding me because I most probably would not have looked it up.
Thanks Zhenlai. Try to get some sleep tonight.
PS. Thanks for not tearing apart the grammer mistakes and limiting the corrections to mispellings. Nouns, verbs, pronouns, adjectives, adverbs, modifying phrases, etc. Oh my God, my English teacher and I never had a meaningful relationship and if you ever saw her you would understand why.

Zhenlai isn't normal; most posters aren't bothered about grammar or spelling unless they're being paid for it.

how dull and stupid.
let's all stare at our navels and ponder the fundamental question of how many angels can in fact, dance on the head of a pin.

Your rite.
Instead, lets all go a
hand spitting, flag hoisting, throat slitting, arse licking, ball busting, cock sucking, otto punching.
Is that normal enough for you?
You useless c**t

Re: He/She is just a NORMAL person...
you enjoy cock sucking and arse licking, not that there's anything wrong with that. especially if you're doing it to me.
you are a broad, aren't you?

Re: He/She is just a NORMAL person...
Correct spelling in English is not that important.
You see Zhenlai, this is what you don't get as a native speaker of English.
English is not an important language. Sure, i learn English as a second language. But that's all it ever will be: A second language. If i misspell or use incorrect grammar, it doesn't matter that much, because it's just English.
My native language, however, is far more important, because that's a real language and it's important.
You might say that non-natives should use English correctly, out of respect for others. This is also what you don't get.
I don't have much respect.
English is a language that was handed to us from the powers that be. They "taught us a lesson". It didn't grow out of a natural enviornment, like our real languages. It was constructed by various institutions - Like powdered milk or plastic plants.
There's no reason to get worked up about it. English is not a real language. It's a second language. Or a third language.
Accept it.

Re: He/She is just a NORMAL person...
History of the second world war was handed to me by the powers that be too. No reason to get worked up about Hitler, it was nothing to do with me. Actually I don't give a f*** about what he did either. He took half of Europe down, but who cares, nothing to do with me. I don't have any respect either.
English seems to be the most popular second language in the world then..wonder why that is? Of course Incredible Egg you could have typed your message in your real language, and seen who on earth would have given a f***. Outside of some small obscure nonentity of a country with a culture that amounted to nothing because you need to speak English to get yourself understood by anyone on Earth.
Lets be honest here, because you aren't being. You need English. The language you love to hate.
Accept it.

Re: He/She is just a NORMAL person...
Actually, Zhenlai was correct in correcting my mispelling because it is my native language and I took it as helpful, positive feedback. If ever I write Chinese in pinyin here, I would hope any native Chinese speaker would feel free to correct my usage as it would be free assistance to me and highly appreciated. It would do nothing but help me improve.
The key word being native. Zhenlai would not be qualified to correct my pin yin, no mattter how fluent he might be in Chinese.
If he corrects someone who is using English as their second language, hopefully it is in the spirit of improving one's language skills, so take it with a grain of salt.
However, everyone should keep English in the proper perspective. The main idea is to communicate and get your thoughts and ideas understood.
English is the international business language. I'm not sure how this came about. But for sure, if there is a meeting in a international firm, and 6 people attend, from 6 different countries, speaking 6 different languages, the meeting is held in English.
The last comment is this is a forum and it would be nice to be able to page down to the last post and find the topic has not change from the original.

Re: He/She is just a NORMAL person...
Generally, Zhenlai perhaps would be considered ABNORMAL for his
fanatical English corrections to all. But if one considers the fact, he might be a English teacher, and he can not sleep at night if he remains quiet on word mispellings, then maybe one would consider, in this case he is NORMAL.
I suppose we need to understand this and tolerate his corrections, no matter how irritating one might find it. he did help me remember how to spell synoymous correctly and saved me the time of looking it up, so I thank him for that.
Did I get synoymous right this time? I hope so, or Im sure Zhenlai will be posting here soon enough.

Anyone can correct pinyin as there is only a limited amount of pinyin words. Perhaps you mean hanzi.
