I think I am the most emotionally stupid person on Earth

So being this far from home, I've really lost contact with just about everybody. So you guys are my community now!
The story is, I broke up with my girlfriend of 2 years yesterday. We met in Beijing when I wasy playing in a travelling band, we went to Egypt together (when the band moved on), and we came back to Beijing together. I figured she was worth derailing my music career, I even have her name tatooed on my arm. We were going to raise some money to get things together. We were hoping to go back to the US together (I am American).
However, over the course of last year, we hardly even saw each other. I taught English all day, and she was a pool coach all night. It led to fights, and the physical distance, I think, became an emotional distance. I never could fix it.
3 months ago, she decided to go into a venture to open a club in another city in China. She said it would be a couple months before she will have time to see me, and I couldn't come along because apparently she is too busy. The reality is, chick pool coaches cant show that they have a boyfriend, otherwise they don't get clients. So she never really even wanted me to show up at her work. When I did, she wanted to act like I was just another client. I get all that. It's work.
But now she is 1000 miles away, and has been. She complains that she hates the new club and is going to quit. So okay, according to what she has said, this 3 month long wait is going to be just another few months. All of this I quietly endure. I voice my complaint but I don't condemn because what is the point. A girl will do what she wants to do.
But here is the kicker. She goes and spends all the money she has, every last bit from even before we were together, on a new BMW. She says she needs it to drive clients around. So I guess I am now supposed to just wait indefinitely to decide whether or not she wants to stay at this pool club, which could be years. And obviously she has no plans to keep up with our relationship and make plans together.
So as I stated in the subject line, I can't believe I thought I was in a relationship for the past 2 years. It has all been a big joke on me. That's all I got. I have to go figure out what I'm going to do with my life now.

Oh dude, I'm sure the reality of it is even worse than that.
Really, from an outside perspective it sounds grim.
You sidetracked your career to be with her, and then she up and leaves -to work yet another club?
She needs to "appear" single to be out all night with "clients".
Frankly, it all sounds like a bunch of code for the job of WHORE.
I hope you get out from under her spell and date someone new.

Much as I think Sciency resembles nothing from earth and noticed that since he took up the job of undertaker in his hometown, people stopped dying.... he's 100% right!
The car is the "kicker" and nobody is making plans to leave a place where

Yeah right? that was some hell of a story, you can't make that sh#t up! First what guy gives up on a band for a girl? That never happens, it is the girl that always loses out on that one.
She doesn't like having you around at her work? plenty of those so called "clients" have been ball deep, I guarentee it!

You seem like a smart guy and obviously I'm not, so maybe you could be a little more clear. I'm not trying to talk about every little detail, but details happen to put the story in better perspective. But I do apologize if my history has bored you. So whatever.

Here I am at 3:30 in the morning, and I have had a revelation. I'm going to put my stuff somewhere in Beijing and backpack this country, since I have a Visa til August. There must be something or someone in this country worth staying for.

No, your not stupid. You just followed your heart. Unfortunately, you did not slow down enough to feel if it was mutual desire. Fortunately, you found out before you lost too much.
Try not to harbor any negative feelings and still remember her for the good times and not the bad. She must have had something good for the intitial attraction. Maybe feelings change and somehow it was too difficult to discuss honestly due to her or your personality so the easy way was to avoid, not discuss, not think about it, and hope the relation will diminish in time by not doing anything. It's better to have loved and lost than to never loved at all and show me someone who does not have a past and I'll show you someone who must be a pretty strange character.
Get over it. It is like crying over spilt milk. Move one and dont take any dirty laundry into the next relationship.Be happy your out of that nightmare. A one way love, that is not mutual is very hurtful and too lonely. Lesson learned, next time keep one eye open. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

I don't think it has as much to do with my income level as her wanting to further her career in business. She is the head manager of the new pool club.
I should probably get on with a real career myself. It's hard to put music down, even though I know it's mostly a dead end. I guess that seems to be a problem for me in general.
