Why is it agents always have the perfect place for you until you show up and it not even remotely close to what you asked for then suddenly when you confront them with it they forgot how to speak English? It really gets old showing up at places that are not the same in the pictures or being told "it was just rented, but I have many more" ( this is code for I was able to trick you to get you here with that nice picture and great price, now let me show you all the sh*t holes I really have for rent). I have been 100% clear to 5 agents now on what I want in the same building and still every time I leave work to get in a taxi when it is 15 below outside to meet them and be shown the exact opposite of what I requested in plane English and Chinese. It seems this is so common that people accept it like it is the norm. I was even told by one of the agent that if I gave her 1000RMB she could get the apartment for me. This is my second time looking for apartments in Beijing so I have had to deal with this issue more times than I care to count. What would it be like if the agent had to travel across town only to find out they were tricked and the person does not show up? I am sure it happens but would a little more honesty hurt when dealing with people? Does the Beijinger do anything if they receive multiple complaints about agents? This is a great FREE site so maybe if there were some actions taken against dishonest agents it would clean the site up a little. This is my first time posting to the forum and most likely the last it just feels good to vent..........
