Over 1,000 people attended the Canada Day Festivities at the Canadian International School organized by the Canada China Business Council Beijing Chapter featuring a BBQ,corporate exhibitions, a kids corner and the annual Chili Pepper Eating Contest sponsored by Immersion Guides. Beijinger Shi Lu won the contest by ingesting 42 peppers. She received a RMB 600 voucher from Cafe 31 for her heroic efforts. Second place went to Li Lun from Hunan, who ate 40 peppers and won a RMB 400 voucher to the In & Out Lijiang Theme Restaurant.
