Good Food, comfortable atmosphere
The owner of this place is always hovering around, making sure things go smoothly. The result is a restaurant that rarely disappoints and typically has great food at not-too-outrageous expat prices.
The veg sandwich is an absolute deal at 30 RMB with great bread, salad, and fries. The steak tends to be pretty good, the french sausages (well, not the andouillettes, ew) are great, and the crepes are well done. This is a restaurant where I am not afraid to try new dishes every time I go. The only downer is that the rotisserie chicken tends to be pretty dry, which is a shame, because nailing that would be a minor coup.
Drinks are nice, the wine is pleasant, and the service not overly obsequious. They don't complain when you sit around all afternoon working away on your laptop with a coffee or water, and the Internet is reliable. Evenings, the place fills up rapidly after 8, so you might want to consider reservations after that.
Highly recommended.
