Special Evening...
I took my girlfriend after having seen the blog entry on thebeijinger. The taxi driver was close to murdering us and it took 3 phone calls to locate the restaurant which is in a back alley at the back of Paddy's.
The decor was perplexing at first sight, the chairs are all different and took a while to adjust to. The open kitchen is nice and tucked away in the far corner is the wood-oven. The waiters were very amicable and polite.
Food wise the selection was vast and covered the most popular Italian dishes without too many strange ingredients which was refreshing. The Brushetta was sensationally fresh and well seasoned. The pizzas were well cooked, thin and had an authentic flavour, the ingredients again were fresh and the toppings were proportionate. To top off we were offered a delicious strawberry mousse.
Prices are very competitive for the quality of food and when paying the bill I had to look twice. I was expecting bill at least 50% more than what I paid.
Only let down is how hard it is to find the place which resulted in us being the only customers in the restaurant for the evening, which is not a bad thing.
Definitely worth it, if you can find it. I walked out with a big smile on my face and nostalgia of home (Milano).
Buon Appetito
