Big Improvement
This has always been set up well enough, but for a long time it lacked a crowd, meaning the first few times i visited it was always a bit cold and empty. Last couple of visits it's always been pretty busy, whether weekends or the dead of midweek. It's never noisy or crowded, just enough people to create the atmosphere it used to lack.
Like The Tree, it's got a selection of Belgian beers if you want to get into trying something new. They've got Hoegaarden on draft, and serve draft local beer for only RMB 10 - although admittedly in European-style measures of about 300ml. The acoustic guitarists they have in are usually alright, and the owner keeps the volume under control so you don't need to shout at your mates. And you can order pizzas in from The Tree, just around the corner.
It can be a bit dark, especially if you're sitting by the windows, but i only really found that annoying when i ordered a pizza and had to eat in the dark. For drinking, darkness isn't too bad.
Glad to see they've made something out of this place, even if it took a while.
