Greedy
GT is just too greedy and so the whole experience here takes a beating. Been here twice for big events--Armin and PVD. Coat check is always a horrid line. Staff don't seem to be keeping up well with the volume of people. Needs better crowd control!
The night of Paul Van Dyk, 3 of us put our coats in together. When one of us wanted to leave earlier than the other, we went to get his coat. They flat out told us we couldn't take only one jacket out and leave the others in. We had to take it all at once and go or they wouldn't bother to get it for us because they were too busy.
At Armin, I handed the coat token over to one staff who then mixed up what she was getting. It took me a good 20 minutes to retrieve my bag. The 2 staff kept on asking me where my token was when I had already given them it. I only got my bag because I spotted my bag by sight after a lot of convincing. Finally with bag in hand, I started to walk away. Then security forcefully yanked my bag away from me, I was actually afraid the strap would break, yelling at me saying Who said this is yours? I told them exasperatedly that 2 other people had just checked it was mine...the only reason I put up with this is because they get big name Djs in there.
Also on the night of PVD, one girl was flopping around completely wasted on the floor being supported by her boyfriend (Why he didn't take her home already, I don't know?) wailing and fighting she almost looked epileptic. She stumbled sideways into me once and her boyfriend caught her and then a few minutes later, she actually fell backwards right into me. I moved away and then she just lay on the floor, crying, like she was having a seizure. I nudged my friend and he said he knew and that she had been like that for the past hour flailing about. Security needs to get on that stuff!
The dancefloor is much too packed you can't move and you're basically spooning standing up with the complete stranger next to you getting drenched in their sweat. At the end of the day, I just think they're greedy with how many tickets they sell. There should be a limit to how many people are allowed in big event nights.
