Convenient for daytrippers to Nanluogu Xiang, this snack restaurant is situated right outside the north entrance to the street on Gulou Dongdajie. The dao xiao mian (knife cut noodles), topped with braised pork and corriander, is great - a bit heavy on salt and MSG, but a thrifty, tasty and gut-busting lunch for RMB 6. Baozi (beef or veggie) are not bad - meat to bread ratio is a little mean. Consider a bowl of chao mian (fried noodles) - they use the same thick, knife cut noodles for everything, so the flavor / texture is always reliable.
