I hadnt been to no44 for at least a year and I was really looking forward to tasting its spicy delicacies again.

However I was confronted with a huge disappointment. You can accept cockroaches in a hutong restaurant but the quality of the food and especially of the service has gone reaaally down.

The food was spicy as always but it was not fresh and not as tasty. To make things worse, the cook was busy watching football as was the waiter who forgot to bring our 4th dish. The dish arrived after I asked for the bill and the lady in charge did not even have the courtesy to apologize, not to mention that she actually charged us for a dish we didn't eat.

No 44 is an example of a previously very good restaurant in decline
