I've been here twice since the new Stumble Inn opened and I have to say I was expecting more from the staff.

Both times I've been here the service has been lackluster to say the least. The first time was a few days after they'd opened and I put it up to getting the creaks out. More than a week later they're still not on the ball.

The first time I walked in and were greeted by silence. We couldn't figure out who was working, who owned the place and who was a customer. We stood for two minutes. Yelled out 'hello!', took a menu by ourselves from the bar, waited for 3 more minutes for anyone to pay attention to us and then left. No one tried to stop us. After walking around a bit my friend and I decided we really wanted a good American microbrew and returned. Same thing. This time we walked upstairs to see if anyone there would pay attention to us. There were a few foreigners who might have been co-managers, the girl that sat around "managing" the now defunct white rabbit was there (a note to foreign managers - she doesn't do anything, just sits and ignores customers), but no one that wanted to serve us. So we left again.

Last night I returned with some friends. We walked in and told the servers we'd be sitting outside. We waited 5 minutes for someone to bring us a menu and then another 10 for the waitress to bring us 4 of our 5 drinks. Another 10 minutes later the final drink arrived (congratulations! you can pour a guiness and it only takes 20 minutes!). We finished our beers 10 minutes later and sat there with no one coming to ask us if we'd want another for another 30 minutes. A girl came around to change the candle but strangely failed to notice we were all done drinking and could have gladly spent more money on their premises if they'd have liked us to.

So we left. If they don't want us, we don't want them. Good luck to ya.

Oh - its been like three weeks - why does your place still have that god awful construction smell? It's supposed to be the booze that kills the braincells!
