Review of American Steak and Eggs

I'm guessing this place was a decent eatery in 2004 and 2005 when it seems to have gained a popular Beijing following. But fast forward to 2010, and frankly the best advice is don't go. This reviewer, a first time visitor, had eggs bene, and partner tried the omelette. Both these egg classics were presented totally over cooked, the omelette was almost so dry as to be inedible. The poached eggs were hard boiled.

Decor is worn, staff only just OK, coffee OK but slow to arrive. So at the end of it all, with so many other fabulous places to go in Beijing, my advice is try somewhere else, Steak and Eggs is no longer worth it.

you got this more or less bang on. steak and eggs used to be a one stop shop for decent american food and it used to be decently priced. the embassy move kinda helped to kill it and to be honest there are better options out there now. rather sad that they never adapted to these changes.

HOWEVER, it's a great hookup for rye flour.
