Review of Ozone Fitness
1

My friend and I went to Ozone Lido today for a try-out. At the front desk, we told the two girls that we are considering a membership, and would like to try it out. They said: "it costs 150 RMB each person." That's the price four star hotel gym charges. So I asked: "any discount?" One girl gave me a bad look, and said: "No." After we paid, the same girl asked if we need lockers. Yes, obviously! Then she said: "oh but we only have one lock left. You will have to share one locker." She's really trying hard to get us become members. After some negotiation, she came back unwillingly with two locks. She then left us to find the changing room by ourselves - the gym's layout is complicated and the changing room is very hidden. We were both lost and shocked that this is that we got for RMB 300. The story did not end here. 15 minutes later, after we both got changed, we realized one of the locks DID NOT WORK. So we ended up sharing one small locker anyway. The workout area is very crowded, machines are old and dirty, really dirty. What I don't get is they put up an extra TV screen on every machine, it's right in your face, literally. It's like you are constantly running into those moving images. Finally, after we are done and as we left the gym, I told the girl that one of the lockers did not work. Her reply was: "did you pay for it? did you rent it or did we give it to you for free?" As if, it would be my fault that the locker did not work because I didn't pay for the rent. We left, and we will never be back. I hope the two girls get some proper training, at least, learn to respect the customers. Oh, and did I mention that the toilet stinks and there were hair in the sink?

And by the way, the whole time we were there nobody guided us or introduced us anything. We were totally IGNORED. May be their business is too good for them to waste time on their customers. Thinking about it still makes me angry. It sickens me that we paid for such shit experience.

Yes, it's a terrible gym and the lockers are very difficult to find. Also, I've had bad experiences with rude service at the Ozone Fitness at Lido. I recommend trying to get a discount at a truly professionally-managed gym - such as the ones at the five-star hotels.
