I've spent a lot of time eating jiaozi. First when I was in Shanghai and now here in Beijing. For sure, the dumplings from these places aren't the same but I've come to love those from the north more. And, IMHO, there are no better dumplings in this city than than those at Baoyuan. Yes, the dumplings at Xiao lao man are also very good. But they don't have the variety, customer service and thin dumpling skins that Baoyuan does. Baoyuan also feels more family run - something I definitely appreciate. Truth is, both places are great but to me this one is better.
