Review of Hatsune
5

I rarely visit Bejing without a stop at Hatsune. This is hands down my favourite sushi place in Beijing. Kagen, the Teppanyaki place by the same owner, is also amazing.

Their sister branches in Shanghai (where I live) are also great. I come their at least once a month.

What sets Hatsune apart is that they get it right across the board. Food is always fresh and many of their rolls are very creative. If you're with some friends and wish to dare them to a challenge... then try to wasabi challenge.

The edamami beans with misu sauce are are great way to start off. I normally start with them and then order a mix of sushi, sashimi, rolls and the handrolls (the spicy tuna one is awesome).

Yesterday, I also tried the Steak Rosini which is slides of sirloin steak with fois gras on top. Wish I could upload photos here! It was heavenly...

The service is superb. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Even new staff are quick to find a more experienced colleague to help if need be. Well done!

For a romantic dinner for two I suggest you try Kagen and order a private room. My girlfriend and I had a great time there last year.

I'm also very skeptical of posters who provide a stellar review of a restaurant that sounds suspiciously like an advertisement and they are a new member who's never posted before.
