they GET their meat from a very cheap dirty factory

After getting sick about two times I discussed it with a friend who works in the meat industry in Beijing and he told me that Lillies restaurants get their meat from one of the cheapest and least sanitary factories in Beijing! This really made me angry as the prices are high so I thought that the quality would be better! So Joe and Lilly shame on you! Everybody spread the news! they are feeding us some of the shittiest meat out there!

It's been awhile since I've been there, but I never gotten sick from anything at Lily's. The quality wasn't exceptional or anything to write home about, but it was tasty enough, I'd say above average or so for a western restaurant in Beijing. Did you get this info recently? Are you sure it's reliable?

I went to the Sanlitun location a few months ago and wI'll not be back. The "steak" and eggs came with some sort of foul-tasting gray sirloin with the fat strip left completely unrendered, and two eggs that must have come from a dwarf chicken. There is no doubt in my mind that the folks at Lily's goes out of their way to buy the cheapest, smallest eggs in Asia. They charge something like 128 for this farce of a meal.

Despite making me order on an electronic iPad-like device, they somehow managed to forget my Bloody Cesar and ADD two items that I didn't even order. When I pointed this out to the waiter, he crossed out the items, did the math in his head and handed it back to me. WTF?

I told him that wasn't good enough so he went back to print a new one. I followed him in and grabbed the old one and kept it.

I don't generally think of myself as a coffee snob, but Lily's coffee is a crime against humanity.

I live near the Shuangjing Lily's. I have eaten there for at least, i dunno, 7 years, literally at least once a week, sometimes 3-4 times a week. So I'd say conservatively I've eaten there 400 times.

I've had a problem with their food exactly once (it was the turkey, which was not fully cooked).

Never been sick.

399/400 is a 99.8% success rate, which I'd say is phenomenal

PS agree with WJH above on the coffee though. Yuck

And I absolutely hate ordering off of iPads

When I lived in Shuangjing I went to Lily's once or twice a month and never had a problem. That was back when there was nothing in Shuangjing. Haven't been back to that location in at least 5 years.

I should have read this review and others! I got sick as well, Not surprised if they use rat meat. Stay away from this place guys!

Thank you for writing this review. I got extremely sick yestersay as well and was blaming it on my body but seeing your review helped me justify that my suspicions were correct and that this place is not assuring quality of their produce. Wish I had listened to your advice and avoided here

yeah, i am pretty sure these negative reviews all come from one person. i remember one time when I was there, one supplier delievered a bunch of american imported seasalt and the staff confirmed that that's all they use. I highly doubt they use cheap ingredients for anything.

what a fagat post
