I’ve eaten here twice this year with overseas business colleagues who were staying at the Park Hyatt. They had selected this restaurant as it was within their hotel.

Unfortunately, I would have to say on both occasions I was generally unimpressed by the experience, and would rate it as very poor value for money.

The food is OK but nothing special for a high-end western restaurant. It is not good value for the prices charged, with the cheapest steak being RMB 437. When I tried to order this steak, the waitress “kindly” tried to upsell me to one that was RMB 1000, telling me that it was better.. This worked for several members of my party who accepted her recommendation, thus leading to us receiving a tremendous bill. Our steaks were OK, but nothing special and certainly not worthy of the price.

I find if you want Steak there are many better and much cheaper choices available in Beijing, including nearby Bleu Marine and Morels, where the service is much warmer and the food is more delicious.

The wine list is extensive, but the red wine starts at around RMB 600-700 for the cheapest bottle. Our CEO and I stuck with beer after seeing the prices.

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy going to fine dining restaurants for a special fine dining experience, this restaurant however is just an expensive restaurant with average quality food, and does not present a true fine dining experience. I would not recommend this restaurant nor return here, there are many much more special experiences available in Beijing at more reasonable prices.
