Worst Indian Food In Beijing

One of the worst Indian restaurants I have ever been to. They have very few spices and just load up a ton of cream into their dishes. Their vegetable korma tastes like clam chowder, except clam chowder has salt and spices.

Someday, leave a positive feedback as well!

*biggrin*Hi, With all respect I fully disagree with you, I have tried all Indian restaurants in Beijing and Ganges turn out to best interms of authentic taste. I have Asian back ground and I know how authentic Indian food taste like. Next time when you order food ask them to make it classic Indian style because they cook it according to Chinese people taste.

Yeah I think Punjabi is slowly but surely becomming my favorite Indian restaurant in Beijing. But I've been to Ganges a million times and never had a bad expierience. I find it to be pretty good but not as innovative or memorable as some of its competitors, like Punjabi.

Dear Weagesfd,

Greetings of the day.

I have sent a email to you with sincere apologies for the Veg Korma requesting to give us a opportunity to send you a replacement /or inviting you for a visit for a meal on the house to make good the inconvenience. We hope you will give us a chance .

At Ganges we strive to serve only Classic Indian Authentic Style .For Chinese customers there are enough curry options if someone like a mild curry like Chicken Shahi Korma and such. There are many regular Chinese customers of ours who are preferring now a Classic Indian Authentic Taste Curries like Lamb Roganjosh ,Chicken Tikka Masala and the Classic Chana Masala.

Many Many thanks Samhao and Kyle Mullin for your kind words about Ganges which motivates us to serve consistent Authentic Indian food to you .We really appreciate your support.

Thanks all for your kind attention and time to us.

I saw this add and thought the exact same as most of the other comments on here. Ganges has always been my go to Indian restaurant in Beijing. At least once a week throughout the winter. The food has always been good. That was until i read this review at work, which made me crave some indian food... so that night not put off by the bad comments from this guy I ordered some food for myself and the wife.

Ready to tuck in noticed straight away that the lamb saag had a large dribble of cream or yoghurt over the top and the Dal Makhani was the same, anyway deciding to give it a chance the Lamb saag tasted great( as it always does) the Dal Makhani was a little off putting with the cream/yoghurt on the top but i thought i'd mix it up and try it anyway. Whilst stiring it up it became obvious that there was a large peice of clear plastic wrapping in the curry! after pulling it out it looked like the top covering for a pot of yoghurt or cream. Really off putting to see that in your meal! I was literally eating my own thoughts after thinking that Ganges was the best indian restaurant in Beijing. Totally off putting to find that in your food!!

Posting this here as I had emailed the owner via their website contact email, with pictures of the offending dish and the plastic rubbish in the meal but as of yet i have not had a response....next step is to post my own fair review of this experience. Mainly i'm dissapointed that they value there regular customers so much as to not even respond to emails relating to complaints...Come on Mrs Hemnani please sort it out!

I can say that the owner has been in touch with me now and has offered a very heartfelt apology. We will always be very happy customers of Ganges and look forward to more of their food in the future!

I would also like to add that the owner contacted myself after a recent incident and was very apologetic and very generous. We were treated to a free meal of our choice. It was as good as some of the best Curries I have eaten.

The owner is really interested in making their restaurant rise to the levels that it has previously set and with great manners like this served up along side great food they are back on my list of favourites.
