New Dongcheng Live Music Venue and Space DDC Opening Party Friday, July 25

A shout out goes to Live Beijing Music for turning us on to the opening party of Dongcheng’s new music venue on the block DDC, or Dusk Dawn Club, this Friday (July 25).

Touted as a bar, live venue, and a space for exhibition and dialogue, the founders aim to cultivate interest in the arts among Beijing’s youth through community, performance, and experimentation.

Although the venue has been in a soft opening phase for the past few weeks, with sporadic concerts and gatherings, the crew is ready to have their first fully-formed blowout this Friday with performances ranging from poetry reading to rock to Xinjiang flamenco, however that may sound.

Tickets for Friday go for RMB 100 at the door and RMB 80 advance.

The schedule for the evening looks like thus:

8-8.20pm DDC Intro Video
8.30-9pm Poetry reading
9-9.40pm Haowei and Band (Electronic rock)
9.45-10.15pm Zhong Lifeng and Band (Indie folk)
