Paris Hilton Trapped in Crowded Beijing Elevator on Friday Night

Once again terror strikes in the heart of a visiting celebrity. The hotel heiress, reality TV star, and “world famous DJ,” Paris Hilton, got stuck in an elevator (luckily not an escalator) for over an hour Friday night just before her Beijing premiere at Boombar in Gongti.

TMZ got a hold of the footage of her being calm at first but then after about the 30-minute mark freaking out for her safety and the safety of others. It was a little entertaining hearing her say “it’s so hot,” followed by a small whimper instead of “that’s hot,” followed by a deviant smirk. Eventually someone came to the rescue, risking life and limb by prying open the doors of the lift at around 1am on Saturday morning.

We don’t like to laugh at another person’s expense, especially when this woman has had her fair share of “why does this sh*t keep on happening to me,” moments. Several months ago Paris was punk’d on Egyptian television into thinking her plane was going down when the pilot made a sudden nose dive with the plane (possibly an intricate metaphor for the trajectory of her career). We would all be pretty shaken up after a stunt like that and also threaten legal action.

Besides her DJ gig at Boombar, the hotel heiress was also in town celebrating the Chinese company Young Essence becoming the general agent of her fashion brand Paris Hilton. Let's hope she made it out of the country safely.
