Explore the Tastes of Italy at This Year's Italian Cuisine Week, Nov 21-27

Between November 21 and 27, Extraordinary Italian Taste: Italian Cuisine Week will take place across the world, including a total of 70 events in China alone, with plenty happening in our own city.

According to Ettore Francesco Sequi, the Italian Ambassador to China, the week will not only help promote Italian cuisine, but also aid the support of "ideas of improving product quality, promoting environmental sustainability, reducing food wastage, and advocating a balanced diet."

Below are some of the events open to the public throughout this week:

November 21

Movie: Quando l’Italia Mangiava in Bianco e Nero by Andrea Gropperlo of Troppenburg and La Cena per Farli Conoscere by Pupi Avati (with Chinese subtitles). 7pm. Italian Institute of Culture

November 22

Movie: La Cena by Ettore Scola (with Chinese subtitles). 7.30pm. Italian Institute of Culture

Tasting Event: A Tazzulella: The history of Italian coffee. 7pm. Caffè Pascucci (2 Xinyuan Nanlu, Chaoyang District)

November 23

Movie: Lunga Vita alla Signora by Ermanno Olmi with Chinese subtitles, 7.30pm. Italian Institute of Culture

Tasting Event: 100ITA “2016 Global Event” dedicated to wine, truffles, olive oil, and other high-quality Italian products. 5.30-7pm. Rosewood Hotel

November 24

Laboratory: "Sua Maestà il Tartufo" (“His Majesty the Truffle”) with Chef Marino D’Antonio of Opera Bombana restaurant Beijing. 11am. Italian Institute of Culture

Networking Event: “I love Italian Wines” social event with Italian wine tasting, promotion of Italian wines and territories, as well as 80 Chinese operators who have attended the "Top Italian Wine and Spirit Course" organized by ITA Trade Agency. 7-9pm. Beijing Design Service Center (3/F, Gehua Tower, 1 Qinglong Jie, Dongcheng District)

Movie: Caffe first Sino-Italian co-production, with director Cristiano Bortone. 7pm. Italian Institute of Culture

November 25

Food Design Laboratory: New frontiers of “functional food.” Meeting with Italian food designer Antonello Fusetti, designer Stefano Giovannoni and chef Carlo Cracco. 6.30pm. Parkview Green
