New Tacos, Burgers, Pizza and More on These Summer Menus
We're fully in the throes of summer here in Beijing, and with the season also comes new summer menus. This year, there are some really delectable delights in store, including three of our favorite things: new tacos, burgers and pizzas!
Las Musas
First up, we've got Las Musas, which has added three new tacos to their menu. They've got the Ahi Tuna Steak Taco (RMB 80), which features sesame-crusted, ponzu-marinated tuna, tangy slaw, shaved Florence fennel, orange and fresh dill; and the Salsa de Cacahuete Asado Steak Taco (RMB 70), which sees charcoal-grilled skirt steak topped with rich Oaxacan peanut salsa, fresh onions, cilantro and cotija cheese.
There is also a new vegan taco, the Grilled Mushroom Carnitas Taco (RMB 55), which takes shredded oyster mushrooms and tops them with spicy soy crema, red cabbage escabeche and roasted pepitas. Another new addition to the menu is the El Fenix Carnitas Taco Bowl (RMB 70), a crispy tortilla bowl filled with braised carnitas (or grilled mushrooms if you want the veggie version), Romaine lettuce, pico de gallo, guacamole, sour cream, pickled onions and cotija cheese. Beersmith
Beersmith has added two new burgers to their menu, one of which, the Blue Duke Burger, was debuted at Juicy Burger Fest and piles blue cheese, honey mayo and pickled onions on a beef patty for one honking burger that cheese fans will love. The other new burger is the Spicy Queen Burger, which features an Angus beef patty, bacon, cheese, hot sauce and a slice of grilled pineapple. More new offerings include Quesadillas, a Beer Bites Board, Sweet Blaze Ribs, Buffalo Blast Wings, Beef Tataki and more. Gung Ho!
Gung Ho! has added an impressive four new pizzas for their summer menu: Smoked Ham and Mixed Mushrooms (RMB 89), Slow Cooked Beef Rib (RMB 99), Crispy Roast Pork With Tree Tomato Chutney (RMB 99) and Porcini Mushroom (RMB 119). They've also got new pasta dishes like Goulash Rigatoni (RMB 78) and Creamy Seafood Orzo Pasta (RMB 88), as well as new mains such as Slow Cooked Beef Short Ribs With Mashed Potatoes (RMB 98), Sirloin Steak Skewers (RMB 68), Herb Chicken Skewers (RMB 38) and more. Georgia's Feast
Georgia's Feast has added a plethora of new dishes for summer, but the most impressive has to be The Batumi Ferris Wheel, inspired by the Georgian landmark of the same name, which sees five delicious snacks all served up on a mini Ferris wheel. Included on the wheel are Lemongrass Shrimp, Shrimp Paste Fried Chicken, Crispy Duck Spring Rolls, Pork Ribs and Prawn Crackers. A few other new dishes that sound particularly tempting are the Chakapuli Lamb With Tarragon, Caucaus-Style Garlic Lemon Shrimp and Oysters With Sea Urchin. Migas Mercado
Normally drawing on the flavors of Spain, this season, Migas Mercado is looking further afield, with a new menu inspired by the spices and ingredients of the Silk Road. Some menu highlights are the Tuna Empanadilla, served with a zesty tuna tartar; Iberico Presa Skewer, served with sautéed Iberico ham, cabbage and a beetroot sauce; and the Pistaccio Baklava, served with a fig compote and ricota cream.
