Mutianyu Part of Great Wall
The most frequently visited section of the Great Wall is at the Mutianyu site. It is only an hour and half from downtown. It has a cable car and lift chair for traversing up and down the hills leading to the Wall. A toboggan ride offers a faster and more thrilling ride down the hills! There are a variety of Chinese and Western restaurants at the entrance to the park.

Jinshanling Part of Great Wall
Known and “the wild part of the Wall” because of the unpreserved nature of its structure, this part of the wall is for visitors who want to avoid crowds and see authentic ruins. It take about 2 and a half hours to get there, but few complain about the travel times as the views are breathtaking and overall experience is excellent.

Badaling and Other Parts of Great Wall
Badaling was once an important strategic military post. The Wall is comparatively higher and wider. This section is 3,741 meters (2.3 miles) long with many watch towers to visit. Badaling was one of the first sections of the Wall to be developed as a tourist site, so it is regularly crowded. It is located 1 hour and 30 minutes from town.
