Kimo Kids Café

Kimo Kids Café is part lavish café, part kids playpen given that it's decked out with the hottest toys a little human could dream of, including make-up and dress-up areas, a mini supermarket, and interactive games. Parents can choose between two-hour play sessions for RMB 128 on weekdays or RMB 158 on weekends.

Food options revolve around (relatively steep) American fare such as burgers (RMB 80-95) and salads.

PPKIDS

Opened in July 2014, this play center is designed for ages 1.5 to 8. The imported play equipment follows a jungle theme, with slides, cushioned surfaces, climbing webs, mini-trains, a spherical lookout point, roller squeezers, and a toddler area. The playground is supervised by Chinese-speaking staff members. RMB 158 (day pass), RMB 138 (four-hour pass), discounted member cards also available.

Happy Gorilla Tree-Top Adventure Park

Opened in March 2010, Happy Gorilla Tree-Top Adventure is a treetop obstacle course with a network of bridges, swings, nets, trapezes, and zip lines. Suitable for kids age 7 and up, Happy Gorillas has two locations at Chaoyang Park and Beijing Shunxin Green Resort in Shunyi. There are currently 30 activities in Shunyi and 50 activities at Chaoyang Park. The courses are split into sections to make it easier to rest or head back to the starting point if necessary. Happy Gorilla is open to kids above 1.1m for the easier courses and 1.4m for the other courses.

Indigo Playground

Created by international design firm Ballistic Architecture Machine (BAM), Indigo Playground is a free, newly-opened outdoor playground behind Indigo Mall. Suitable for ages 2-7, the playground features spinning swings and wheels, a rope climbing structure, easy rock climbing routes, two marble slides, and a mist machine for hot days.

Art Bug

Singaporean art center ArtBug aims to make art accessible for everyone, with programs catering to children from ages 2-12. ArtBug focuses on nurturing a child’s creativity, communication skills, and self-confidence through the arts. The center offers courses in a wide variety of subjects, including drawing, sculpture, photography, speech and drama, and performance arts.

Think Big Creative Centre

Think Big Creative Centre has over 20 years’ experience working with toddlers, kids, and teens to develop creative skills. The company’s Creative Playgroup (ages 0-6) uses Montessori educational approaches to stimulate sensory exploration, logical reasoning, language skills, and science and culture awareness. The Creative Visual Arts program (ages 2-18) is designed by CreativeKids, a Hong Kong art education studio founded in 1991. Programs are age-appropriate, cross-curricular in content, and use multimedia methods to explore topics.

The center’s programs are membership-based.
