This year’s Beijing International Chamber Orchestra (BICO) Christmas Concert features E. Grieg’s enchanting musical tales, “Peer Gynt” and “Piano Concerto”. After touring around China and hitting 11 cities earlier this year, Nocturnes are back on the road for 6 tour stops in support of their new single and music video "Any Kind of Mood."

Nocturnes’s music has been described as “emotional,” “sultry,” “atmospheric,” and “immersive,” and sits somewhere between the intensity of Foals, the electronic elements of Bonobo, and the pop sensibilities of Coldplay. The duo's electrifying live performances have earned them a place amongst the top bands in Beijing, and tonight we welcome them back to School Bar.

Get ready for a "dizzy Wednesday" with four bands ready to rock the School Bar stage.

On the docket are the ever popular ultras punk unit Labor Glory, indie artist Li Eryang, brand spanking new band formed by Nathan (of Oldy Baby among other bands) and said to be influenced by Neutral Milk and Bob Dyland - Prost, and rounding out the line-up, a new band formed over the summer by four just about 20-somethings, Cyper T and their punk/hip-hop musings!

In the sport of longboarding, movement is of paramount importance. For us, too, curves and lines
come from a thrill-seeking approach, from a desire for aestheticism. Longboarding is an alternative
sport with close links to the visual arts and music, and Longboard's musical production is enriched
by the roadmaps, drawings, photos, texts, and videos that come from our travels and encounters.
Longboard is able to sound like full band thanks to the many talents and know-how of its three
artists. They play with the objects available on site, producing a show that takes on the qualities of
its environment (for example, the drum kit can be made up entirely of objects and instruments
found on site). Longboard always pulls out surprises, making each concert a unique performance.
The group is autonomous in material so that technical concerns constraints never get in the way of
the music. Light on constraints but rich in expression and exchange, the place, the people and the
situation decide the musical content every time.
A real portable, transportable and adaptable orchestra!

Ensemble Brasssonanz

A first-class 12 person brass music ensemble. This is what Ensemble Brasssonanz stands for. All members are from different orchestras, such as Berliner Philharmonic，the Youth Philharmonic Orchestra of Niedersachsen (JPON), the National Youth Orchestra of Germany (BJO) and the German Youth Philharmonic. Furthermore, all members of the ensemble were from renowned music academies in Germany, including those in Berlin, Detmold, Hamburg, Cologne, Leipzig, Münster and Stuttgart..

Danish rockers Virgin Suicide appear at Omni Space on November 22nd. Their sound is a mix of indie pop and shoegaze, with influences like seminal group My Bloody Valentine and Sonic Youth. They’ve released a couple of albums, toured with the Walkmen and are currently on their first cross-China tour.
