Japanese fingerstyle guitarist Kotaro Oshio represents several major Japanese guitar brands. The expressive, boundary-breaking artist is known for his delicate arrangements of classical pieces, as well as his film scores. American singer-songwriter and musician Chris Garneau appears at Tango 3F on October 30th, in support of his 4th studio album Yours. Garneau’s music combines elements of folk, Americana and pop, and he cites diverse influences including Jeff Buckley, Nina Simone and Chan Marshall.

Indie rockers Deca Joins appear at Tango 3F on December 21st as part of their Go Slow tour. The Taiwanese band, signed with Airhead Records, blew up with their album Bathroom. Their music blurs boundaries and draws on poetic inspiration.

The Phoenix, Arizona group has received a great deal of critical acclaim in metal circles, hit 97 on the Billboard 200 and 15 on Independent Albums charts. Japanese Metalcore Group Crystal Lake appears at Omni Space on October 30th. The group has blended nu metal, and progressive metal since their debut in Tokyo in 2002. Rather new to the spotlight, Norway-based Boy Pablo, fronted by 18-year-old Pablo Muñoz, constantly brings us charming bedroom-pop jams straightly created out of his bedroom since his first appearance in 2016. Gerhard Oppitz was born in Frauenau (in the Bavarian Forest) in 1953. At the age of five, he began to play piano and debuted with a performance of Mozart’s Piano Concerto in D minor when he was 11. Along with his great enthusiasm for school, especially for science and mathematics, he continued his musical education in Stuttgart and Munich starting in 1966 with professors Paul Buck and Hugo Steurer, and later with Wilhelm Kempff, concentrating on the works of Beethoven.

His main interest is the classical-romantic repertoire, although he has always devoted himself to music of the 20th century, as well, playing premiere performances of several piano concertos. Again and again, he has demonstrated his particular fondness for presenting major groups of work cycles, such as Bach’s “Wohltemperiertes Klavier”, Mozart’s 18 Sonatas, Beethoven’s 32 Sonatas, all the solo works by Schubert and Brahms’ complete piano works. Gerhard Oppitz’ discography comprises over 70 titles. Future plans include performances of all Mozart piano concertos, the main piano works of Liszt and the complete solo works of Debussy and Ravel.
