Join jazz drummer and educator Billy Hart at Blue Note Beijing on August 17th and 18th for a night of unforgettable jazz. 76-year-old Hart has played with jazz and soul legends, and teaches widely, including at the New England Conservatory of Music, Western Michigan University, The New School and New York University. He leads the Billy Hart Quartet with Mark Turner, Ethan Iverson, and Ben Street.

Chihiro Yamanaka is an internationally renowned and New York based jazz pianist, composer, and bandleader, whose fluid, athletic technique has drawn rave reviews and very favorable comparisons to legends such as Oscar Peterson and Art Tatum. She’s joined by bassist Yoshi Waki and drummer John Davis for two nights only at Blue Note Beijing, on August 8th and 9th.

Extrusion.Forest appears at Fruityspace on Saturday, July 20th. Their performance disassembles electronic instrumentation to look at the relationship between technological and organic expansion, so be prepared for a trip.
