On Sunday we let Damage Control jazz trio stir up our Sunday evening. Listen and look as saxophonist Nathaniel Gao, bassist Wang Chenhuai and drummer Alex Morris combine jazz, electronic sounds and visuals in order to create an aurally as well as visually pleasing experimental jazz experience.

YinYang Music Festival (YYMF) transforms the Great Wall of China into a three-day music, art and community event. YYMF dedicates itself to electronic music, visual arts, sustainability and cultural development. Setting financial profit aside, the festival is a community-oriented event caters to all walks of life. In contrast to the overload of commercial EDM festivals in China where it’s first and foremost about money, showoff, fame and VIP service, YinYang promotes the intricacy of developing a ‘family’ through the event.

For the 6th edition of YinYang Music Festival (YYMF), we present a diverse festival program:

1. Historical Location

YYMF takes place on JinShanLing Great Wall ⾦金金⼭山岭⻓长城, an area that evokes the mysticism of the Great Wall, transcending the line between the modern and the ancient. The JinShanLing Great Wall is a two-hour drive north from Beijing.

2. Electronic Music

There will be 20 artists flying from Latin America, Europe and Asia to the Great Wall, and over 40 China-based artists will present the best musical accolades from the middle kingdom.

The YinYang Music Festival booking philosophy is based on diversity, quality, creativity and finding the right balance of experienced artists and making space for new China-based talents to develop. Hence, we have selected a dynamic line up of electronic live performances, vinyl and DJ sets presenting techno, minimal, house, deep, bass, (psy-)trance and disco performances that will blow the crowd away.

3. Five Performance stages

YYMF is famous for it’s incredible stages. This year we present a total of five stages. There will be three stages on top of the Great Wall where you can enjoy magical sunrises and sunsets. The main stage presents banging performances and a 3D visual mapping show projected on the Great Wall. The night stage in the forest gives patrons an area where you can party all night long.

4. Modern Art Day

Together with the Great Wall Arts Festival and Enlai Art Museum, YYMF hosts Modern Art Day. Over 100 China-based artists will showcase their work during the festival, including through live art and painting performances.

5. Sustainability

Sustainability is also at the heart of this year’s YYMF. Like last year, we will donate 30RMB per sold ticket to our self-founded sustainablility project titled YinYang City Forest for Youth in Tianjin. With last year’s donations, we planted 7,000 trees, bought a DJ stage and built a basketball court for the city forest’s youth activities. This year ticket sales income we will extend this project. Secondly, the F&B bars will serve biodegradable plates, cutlery and reusable hard cups. Thirdly, we activate people to “leave no trace” by giving a free Mate Mate drink for each full garbage bag they collect. Finally, sustainable features will be touched on at the the SDG (Sustainable Development Conference) Conference. In the afternoon of June 8th, the MainStage will be the platform where seven speakers introduce sustainable projects and lifestyle concepts.

6. BYOB

Visitors are allowed to bring their own F&B onto the festival - No glass bottles allowed

7. Yoga classes on top of Great Wall

In cooperation with Taozi Tree Yoga (Beijing) and Panther Yoga (shanghai), there will be free yoga classes in the morning (sunrise) and late afternoon (sunset) on top of the Great Wall.

8. Accommodation

We offer camping inside the festival area and hotels located on 50 - 200 meter from festival en- trance.

9. Transportation

Festival shuttle bus service from Beijing, Tianjin and Shanghai. Also there is the option of public transportation to the Jinshanling Great Wall from Beijing.

The Beloved Mac Daddies have become one of Beijing's most popular party-bands. Simona De Rosa is an award-winning singer, composer, educator. Having released two albums as a leader and appearing on numerous albums, she has established herself in the NY jazz scene and continues touring internationally.

Born in Napoli, Italy, Simona De Rosa started to play piano at the age of ten. As a teenager she discovered her voice and started singing different types of music from classical to pop and soon become fascinated by jazz and the thrilling possibilities of spontaneous improvisation.

While studying geology science in Napoli, Simona already had the chance to work with many bands ranging from a duo to big bands. After graduating, Simona moved to New York, and has been living there and in Italy since then. During the time in New York, she was enrolled at Queens College where she developed her skills in arranging and jazz performance. She was offered to travel with her projects gracing several stages in USA (United Nations NY, Kupferberg Center of Arts NY, Zinc Bar, Stage 72, Untermayer Park NY, Trumpets Jazz Club NJ, Bloomfield Italian Festival PA, Mercer County Italian Festival NJ, Warren Italian Festival OH, Lake Worth Street Painting Festival FL, Italian American Museum NY, Consulate General of Italy NY, Ft Lauderdale Italian Festival FL, San Gennaro Fest NY, Madonnari Art Festival MD), in Watamu Kenya, Vietnam Hanoi “Jazz Diva Residency at Sofitel Metropole) and Europe with her projects and as guest (Umbria Jazz, Pomigliano Jazz Festival, Moncalieri Jazz Festival, Napoli Jazz Festival, Blue Note Milano, Peperoncino Jazz Festival, Alatri Jazz Festival, Montecorice Jazz Festival, Pozzuoli Jazz Festival, Sunset Jazz Festival, Teatro Summerte, Teatro La Claque, Teatro Eduardo De Filippo, Sunset Jazz Festival, and many more). Simona is also very close to her neapolitan roots in the USA, organizing events for the italian-american community. In 2014 she produced and organized a concert named after the same parallel that links Napoli and New York:”41st parallel”. A titanic operation with 60 musicians on the stage of the LeFrak Concert Hall in Queens. That night was awarded by the Country Executive Ed. Mangano for her spirit of leadership and dedication to the italian-american community. She was also invited to represent Italy for the ABC7 National American TV during the Columbus Day Parade 2014 on the famous Fith Ave

本土夫妻档组合，独立音乐人，教师。
歌手Ellen师从美国声乐导师Anna Bonita.
吉他手大龙师从台湾著名音乐导师翟黑山
二人活跃在国内个个大舞台8年之久，同时任教于北京现代音乐研修学院。

Ellen和大龙相识在2010年的一次乐队排练，乐队的主要风格是Jazz和Blues。相识是因为音乐，从2012年开始二人就以组合形式出现在京城大大小小的Live House至今。为了让演出音乐流派多元化，现在又加入了Funk Soul R&B Reggae 等曲风了。

他们的现场风格是活跃的自由的，像爵士乐一样，使人偶尔深思 但多为轻松与欢乐。现场翻唱经典曲目即兴成分很多，原创歌曲，例如《涩?爱》《你认识你自己吗》等等又为以音乐画面感为主的意识流音乐。所以每次现场演出 就像一次朋友间的围炉，你能感受到的很多，因为他们相信，音乐是人生不可或缺的一部分。 2016年Ellen与大龙 参加了浙江卫视《梦想的声音》节目录制并于第五期播出。节目中的选曲也是延续了他们以往的音乐风格。《走钢索的人》与《Paradise》两首改编翻唱歌曲，被很多听众以及现场导师认可。 同年歌手Ellen还参与录制了云南卫视《中国情歌汇》节目。

Belgium synthfreak will embark on a 8-cities-tour that starts in Beijing on May 30th at DDC. For its first solo show in China, he will be supported by local electronic classical pop band AEM Studio.
Recently back from SXSW 2019, AEM gain notoriety after performing with nothing less than Ryuichi Sakamotohimself in Beijing.

Marc Melià is a Majorca born composer and musician who currently lives in Brussels. For the last ten years he has been composing, producing and playing music in several bands including the pan-european trio Lonely Drifter Karen among them with whom he released 3 albums on the Belgium label Crammed Discs.

Music For Prophet, his first solo album, it’s part of the new born tradition of the repetitive music composed by sensitive robots for the humans of tomorrow. The protagonist of the album, from where all the mystical loops, giant statues of arpeggios and the big variety of electronic landscapes post-Kraftwerk are born it’s called Prophet 08, an already mythical synthesizer.

With Music For Prophet, Marc Melià proposes a performance where, unlike the vast majority of live electronic music acts, each song is crafted by hand at every concert without the use of prerecorded sequences. Marc Melià naturalises what is synthetic, humanises what is robotic and looks for the beauty in sounds that by nature are cold and emotionless.
