Julie Semoroz is a singer, sound artist and head of artistic projects. Her productions address transformation, metaphysical poetry and the invisible, and explore ethereal and intimate worlds on the brink of falling apart. She operates through repetition and exhaustion of sound matter, working on improvisation. She spreads confusion, hopping from pop to experimental music, audio performances to live concerts.

JMO /Noise, experimental sound, ambient /Ground and ethereal atmosphere

Since 2015, Julie Semoroz developpes a sound research work in the form of performances, installations and sound spatializations; experimentations issued from «field recordings». The idea is to work the sound material in type frames «site specific art». JMO’s lives are thorough and detailed. She works including various organic materials such as voice recording or sounds from the human body that she transforms. A journey through dreamlike universe, passage between the microcosm and the macrocosm.

SPIRALE NEVROSE / Sound performance

Jérémy Chevalier is a visual artist, performer and musician. He practices rock music as a first source of inspiration. The objects he uses, the intallations he sets and his acting are full of humour and derision. His instruments, tools and gestures are borrowed from the entertainment industry together with its derivative effects, namely its mistakes and the accidents it arouses. Spirale Nevrose is a new project born during the creation of Protuboscope made with Galery Duplex in BiG (Biennales des Espaces d’Arts indépendants) in June 2017. Spirale Nevrose as its name shows it, is the nevrotic combination of the repetition of voice and language, exploring absurdity of communication.

LANIAKEA STARLETTE / Drone Rock

Laniakea is the first sound collaboration of Jérémy Chevalier and Julie Semoroz. This project was born during the creation Protuboscope in June 2017. Cosmic repetitive music influenced by kraut rock, space rock and noise. The Laniakea Supercluster (Laniakea; also called Local Supercluster or Local SCl or sometimes Lenakaeia) is the galaxy supercluster that is home to the Milky Way and approximately 100,000 other nearby galaxies. It was defined in September 2014. The new definition of the local supercluster subsumes the prior defined local supercluster, the Virgo Supercluster, as an appendage.

SONIC AMASS / 在香港开展的声音项目

Sonic Amass 是Julie Semoroz在2015研发，准备出品到中国的一个声音项目。Sonic Amass原本被设计成一个社区动员计划的现场， 最终发展成了一个即兴声音演出实验室。Julie通过混合某个具体区域（如公园，大楼，区道）的环境音和噪音，希望将其做成有关一个特定地点的声学隐喻，揭示关于这个地点的多重日常身份。当地的居民和艺术家／音乐人们会通过亲自采集声音的方式参与到其中。

中国的信史时代大约开始于公元前9世纪，那时候正是周朝。现在是公元后21世纪，所以大约有三千年的时间。三千年是段漫长的时间，足以担当的起沧海桑田这类词汇的形容，如你所知，在这段时间里发生了无数悲欢离合你唱罢我登场华丽丽的悲喜剧。但如果我们换个角度看问题，假设人的平均寿命是60岁，那么只需要50个人的生命生死相继，就可以贯穿整个这段历史。五十个人，实在不是一个很大的群体，每逢周末，拥在DDC的那个小院里看演出的男男女女数量很轻易就会超过百人。所以，下次你再去DDC，看看身边这些和你一样挤在这个小院里的人，想象一下，这些人中甲死去的当天乙出生，而乙死去的当天丙出生，丙死去的当天丁出生……and so on。仅这个小院里的人就完全可以从周朝贯穿至今，甚至没准可以上溯到三皇五帝。三千年的历史好像也没那么长哦！

所以，把三千年的历史浓缩在一首三分钟的歌里，好像也并非什么不可想象的事。这首歌叫做《Promised Land》，是我最近新写的一首歌。其实，这首歌只有一半是我写的，我只写了词，曲子是来源于 Chuck Berry 的同名歌曲。我最开始听到这首歌是在电影《黑衣人3》中，Tommy Lee Jones 和 Will Smith老少两个戴着酷酷的黑墨镜，全程面无表情，开着一辆拉风到爆的高科技汽车，穿行在纽约灯红酒绿的大街，去抓捕外星人坏蛋，背景音乐就是这首《Promised Land》。不过是猫王翻唱的版本。我记得当时我哈哈大笑了好一阵子，因为画面和音乐的结合太带感了。然后就萌生出一个想法，我要给这首歌填上中文词。但歌词写什么内容却完全没有想法。好几年后的一天，我重新翻看柏杨老先生的《中国人史纲》，突然福至天灵，我要填一整部中国通史在这首歌的词里面！嘿嘿，而且后来我成功了。

So，如果你想知道从盘古开天辟地一直到 People’s Republic of China 的一整部中国通史是如何被压缩在一首三分多钟的歌曲里，并且全程的曲调是标准的美国扭扭舞（此时脑补电影《低俗小说》中 Uma Thurman 和 John Travolta 的尬舞），那就请来看我们的演出吧。

刘兴珂：

大学经济学老师、音乐节执行导演、酒吧驻唱歌手、原创音乐人。

独立创作至今17年，几经起伏，也有了张全长原创专辑《冷眼旁观的距离》，甚至还拥有了《空白的诗篇》如此磅礴大气、充满60s/70s前卫摇滚艺术摇滚气息的杰作！而他个人的心路历程和阅历，也都谱写成了歌词。

过去几年，刘兴珂与乐队陆续在北京DDC等现场酒吧及外地音乐节有过一些演出，过去一年，他又潜心创作了几首新歌，演出也少了。这次，他又准备好以新的面貌和作品呈现来与大家见面。

Zhang Jing

Zhang Jing, a contemporary Chinese jazz guitarist covering various music genres, from the southern metal core "Liu Dao Mu", Hip-Hop artist Man Shuk, Dubstep band "Jing Hua Yuan "to jazz.

In 2012, he received a bachelor's degree in Jazz Music Performance from Xinghai Conservatory of Music. In 2016, he got a Jazz Guitar master's degree in NIU, the USA with free tuition in his postgraduate stage. In 2017, the new EP "Prelude to a Doom" was completed with his metal band "Liu Dao Mu" and was released in September. In June, he made the recording of his album "Untitled" and it was planned to be released at the end of 2017. Now he is also a tutor of guitar in Beijing Contemporary Music Academy.

Dan Zylinski

DAN ZYLINSKI (USA) recently returned from a hugely successful, sold out 6 day, 5 city, China tour with Grammy-nominated US Jazz sensation Alex Han (Marcus Miller). Affiliated to a recent CMA award-winning album (SiQinGeRenLe), he is also the bassist for Hong Kong artist Khalil Fong 'SoulBoy' 方大同 and has performed to sold out audiences of 10000+ playing for Khalil as well as being the featured bassist for several other well-known stars of the Asian music scene from soul to pop to Mongolian folk: appearing with rising China star of The Voice and Grammy-sponsored TV show (Tia Ray/Yuan Yawei), and China folk legend SiQinGeRenLe.

Victor Bastidas

Victor Bastidas received a Bachelor in Music from Florida International University with a full scholarship from the music department, and performed with artists suchas among many. He also graduated with honors from the Master of Music Programat the University, with a full scholarship from the music department as well as a University Fellowship, and was part of the scholars group at NIU.

Pierre Pradat is a French jazz piano and keyboard player, band leader, composer, sound designer, producer, teacher, and actor. He was born on December 31, 1981 in Nancy, France. Now in his early thirties, he is a highly respected musician in Beijing.

His greatest influences include the music of Bill Evans, Herbie Hancock, Keith Jarrett, Chick Corea, Kenny Barron, Miles Davis, and Wayne Shorter, among others. His music covers a large range of styles while delivering his own brand ofcreativity and personality. Pradat’s musical education began with classicalpiano lessons at his hometown’s National Conservatory at the age of six. He began to study Jazz at the age of 13. By the time he was 18, he had already graduated from the Music Academy International, one of the most prestigious contemporary music institutes in Europe. His primary mentors included acclaimed teachers Pierre-Alain Goualch (Piano) and Jean Bisello (Funk Bass)

Sejin Bae is a Korean jazz pianist, composer and arranger who received her bachelor’s degree in jazz performance at one of the most famous and competitive colleges in Seoul, The Dongduk Women’s University; there she was awarded many scholarships to attend and graduated with honors. Wanting to further pursue her music education, she moved to New York City in 2010 to attend graduate school at Queens College. At Queens College she had the privilege to study with David Berkman, Jeb Patton, Michael Mossman, Antonio Hart and Johannes Weidenmuller. During her time in New York City, she participated in many gigs, concerts and master classes.

After completing her Master’s degree at Queens College, she returned to Korea and began teaching music at several colleges in Seoul and Daegu, as well as frequently performing at some of the most well-known venues in Korea; participating in broadcasts, festivals and recording sessions. In addition to jazz, she is also a member of the famous Korean latin band “Pinar Del Rio” and has worked with several famous Korean jazz vocalists. In 2016, Sejin participated on the soundtrack to the Hong Kong film, “Our Time will Come”. To date, Sejin Bae has performed all of the world including the United States, Korea, Japan and China.

Sejin is currently living in Beijing performing with some of the finest musicians and many others at venues like the Blue Note, East Shore, DDC, Bricks, Jianghu, etc. and currently holds a teaching position at the Contemporary Music Academy. In addition, She had recently performed with Mark Turner and Michael Mossman with Blue Note Beijing Jazz Orchestra, Jz Festival, and Changchun Jazz Festival etc.
