Christian Li （李潭林） is a jazz pianist. He was born in Montreal, Quebec and raised in the small town of Horseheads, NY. He has studied and performed with a wide variety of artists including Danilo Perez, Ben Street, Joe Lovano, Dave Liebman, Chris Cheek, Rich Perry, Dayna Stephens, Donny McCaslin, Jack Dejohnette, and John Patitucci.

Christian leads his own groups and works extensively as a sideman. He has performed at a few festivals, including Newport, Panama, Monterey, Montreux, Detroit, and Jazz En Comminges. He has also performed at a few notable venues, including the Blue Note, Birdland, East Shore, and Carnegie Hall. He has given a talk at TEDx Chemung Valley. He sometimes summons enough courage to perform classical music. He also arranges string for Norwegian singer-songwriter Siv Jakobsen.

Christian is on faculty at the Berklee College of Music and the Calhoun School. He currently studies classical piano with Deirdre O’Donohue.

Come out to School Bar this evening and celebrate the 6 year anniversary of local promotions group Super School Fighter!

Super School Fighter is the brainchild of long-time Beijing music scene staple GeiGei. For the past 6+ years she has been booking gigs at School via her Super School Fighter project, and over the last couple years has settled into booking almost every Thursday evening show at School. Starting in 2017 SSF expanded beyond Beijing, and now books weekly/monthly shows in Shanghai, Chengdu, Xiamen, Wuhan, and elsewhere around China as well.

SSF has invited a handful of the breakout bands from SSF gigs over the past year+ to play this evening, and includes electro rock n' rollers Screaming Kong, mathy post-rocker ensemble HouLai de DaoYu, female fronted pop folk outfit New Generation, punk dudes always looking to cause a frenzy Need Will Need, indie rockers Summer Warz, and last but not least, funk foursome who met while attending the Beijing Modern Music College - Za Wu Jian!
