"Todd Clouser doesn't fit into any scene, and doesn't want to" says NPR in describing the aesthetic of the prolific guitarist, vocalist and writer. Clouser has performed over 700 shows on 4 continents with his group A Love Electric and as a solo artist, gracing stages and studios across the Unites States, Central America, and western Europe. Earning praise from critics of jazz and rock alike, Clouser has performed with musicians from John Lurie (Lounge Lizards) to John Zorn, John Medeski, Cyro Baptista, Keb Mo, and many more, across genre and nationality.

“Todd Clouser的音乐很难被归类,他也不愿被别人归类。” NPR(国家公共广播电台)曾这样描述身为吉他手、歌手与作曲人的Todd Clouser。Clouser和他的A Love Electric曾一起在四大洲进行过700多场演出,并作为独奏艺术家在美国、中美洲和西欧等地演出。Clouser在音乐的舞台上曾与John Zorn, John Medeski, Cyro Baptista, Keb Mo等人一同演出。

《Holiday Song》 Todd Clouser

Clouser has released records on Rarenoise (London, UK), Billy Martin's Amulet (NYC), and Ropeadope (Philadelphia). His 2013 offering Man With No Country (Sept 2013) came on Amulet Records, the label of legendary drummer Billy Martin, who performs on a number of the albums tracks. A record of 11 proper songs, biting lyricism, and blood churning sonic landscapes produced by another legend of New York City's downtown scene, Golden Palominos founder Anton Fier. His most recent recording is a live set spanning spoken word diatribe, post-blues/rock song, and instrumental exploration recorded at Icehouse in Minneapolis, MN with John Medeski and JT Bates, out January 26, 2018.

Clouser已经在Rarenoise(伦敦)、Amulet(纽约)和Ropeadope(费城)发布了唱片。他在2013年与Amulet唱片(一个由传奇鼓手Billy Martin建立的唱片公司)合作发行了专辑“Man With No Country”,Billy Martin本人也参与了一些曲目的演奏。

MusicDish*China signed A Love Electric in October to its management roster in China and will be organizing the band's debut tour in June. The promoters of this rising pianists show say:

"When the unmistakable musical influences of Thelonious Monk and Charlie Parker intersect with J.S. Bach, Scott Joplin, and the folkloric rhythms of Cuba, could one possibly conceptualize the celebration that occurs at that intersection?

New York-based jazz pianist Kevin Harris plays a distinctive combination of traditional and contemporary music that seeks to explore such a crossroad.

Fred Hersch talks of Harris as one who “plays and writes with flair and real soul" and Downbeat Magazine writes that “Harris' compositions deal with themes of strength, love, courage, and self- awareness. It's a heavy task he's set up for himself, and he meets the challenge gracefully.”

One of the captivating elements of the Kevin Harris Project is the level of comfort and understanding they have with one another as they dive into soulfully expressive conversations and playful exchanges of ideas. Both live and recorded performances reflect Harris’s determination to capture his audience through explorative interactions that Terri Lyne Carrington describes as "an exciting commitment to quality".

Among his most notable collaborations are Greg Osby, Bill Pierce, Francisco Mela, Avishai Cohen, Eddie Gomez, Duane Eubanks, Richie Barshay, Ben Street, Steve Langone, Jason Palmer, Jerry Bergonzi, Yoron Israel, Tommy Campbell, Dezron Douglas, and Terri Lyne Carrington.

Harris performs at renowned national and international venues --Blue Note (NYC, Boston, and Milan), Smalls Jazz club, Mezzrow Jazz Club, JazzHus Montmartre, Wally's, to name a few--. His ensemble has also participated at Jazz Festivals in Cuba, Panama, Italy, Denmark, Peru, Israel, and the USA.

As a leader, he has released five albums. DownBeat defines some of Harris’ compositions as “overall smart, lyrical and engrossing”, and The Phoenix highlights “the tight/loose elasticity, the tension between form and freedom that was the hallmark of so many Miles Davis sessions with Shorter and Herbie Hancock . . . calm and collected, but also loose and full of surprises."

Harris is currently on faculty at Berklee College of Music where he teaches piano, jazz ensembles, and theory classes; he is also a MIT affiliated artist. Committed to the community and to getting youth involved in music, Harris is in demand as a clinician and consistently collaborates with both public and private education institutions nationally and internationally.

Harris thrives on communication.  A typical performance always involves interacting with the audience that in turn inspires a sense of joyful connectedness and community.

"Participation,” Harris says, "is what keeps our souls alive.

The Dec 29 show begins at 7.30pm, while the Dec 30 show begins at 6.30pm. We suggest attendees show up by 6pm either night at the latest, regardless, in order to get situated in plenty of time."

For information on the Dec 29 show click here. He will play again at Blue Note on Dec 30, and you can read more about that here.
