The Hot Club of Beijing is truly a time machine band, which takes listeners on a journey back to the 30s / 40s. They continue to carry on the tradition of legend Django Reinhardt as well as perform traditional gypsy waltzes, American swing classics, fiery Latin pieces and even traditional Chinese and Italian tunes. This melting pot of influences creates a unique experience you never been before.

Since its inception, The Hot Club of Beijing has been extremely active all over China. They took apart in lots of festivals, like Dali Music Festival, Tianjin Hanma Festival and so on. They also worked with many famous brands, like Ferrari, Louis Vuitton, Air France, INSTITUT FRANÇAIS. In 2012 and 2013 and 2017 the band won the category for Best Local Band in the Beijing City Weekend Reader’ s Choice Awards three times.

作为DDC持续了将近三年的乐手交流平台，DDC GRAND JAM此次将联手老朋友——全球知名的电声乐器品牌Fender将隆重地拉开DDC店庆系列活动帷幕，带来一场Fender主题Jam。

由Fender中国几位员工领衔的Six On A Side乐队，会带来一段funk rock风格的开场表演，DDC也会准备好Twin Reverb, Bassman和Blues Deluxe三台电子管音箱，等着你带上心爱的strat, tele或者offset过来。

About Kizomba:

Kizomba is a popular social dance now, its also called " African Tango".

Kizomba is a genre of dance and a musical genre originating in Angola in 1984 Kizomba means "party" in Kimbundu, an Angolan language.

Semba has been danced in the 1950s in Angola. In the 1990s, when the actual kizomba music got more and more popular, Angolan semba dancers started to adapt their semba steps according to the tempo and flavour of the Kizomba beats.

Named Editor's Choice for Best Local Band of 2016 from City Weekend, The Spice Cabinet, led by frontman keyboardist Terry Hsieh, is the instrumental jazz machine that slices, dices every pop number into the frenzy of a pop modern dance beat of wonder. It's pop according to jazz, sprinkled with funk, hip-hop, bebop and rock.

SPICED TEA is the group's first attempted LIVE album.

Terry Hsieh is a trombonist, composer and session arranger from Durham, North Carolina who currently lives and works in Beijing. He graduated in 2012 from Oberlin College and Conservatory where he studied Robin Eubanks, Gary Bartz, Billy Hart, Sean Jones and Marcus Belgrave. He has worked in the Chinese pop industry in the house bands on such as shows as I Am A Singer, The King of Masks, Bands of China, Rising Star and more. Hsieh has worked for such artists as Tan Weiwei, Terry Lin, Karen Mok, Tia Ray and more. Hsieh co-founded and led the Blue Note Beijing Jazz Orchestra for a year and a half from 2016-2018 and is the bandleader of the Terry Hsieh Collective, whose album “Multiplicity” featured Robin Eubanks and SF Jazz cohort Miguel Zenon. Hsieh proudly endorses Denis Wick mouthpieces, and BAC horns.

“ChuChu and friends”. 这是一群再美国生活的亚洲青年，他们用自己对于爵士、音乐的热爱而相聚在一起。他们用自己不同的文化色彩来润色整个乐队，再东方文化、东方原色的基础上更好的加入21世纪年轻人的前卫、独立、个性的音乐元素。即兴元素充满整个乐队，再演奏传统音乐的同时，绽放别样的色彩。

“Easterners”是”ChuChu and Friends ”在2018年推出的音乐新系列。转达的是东方人在西方所感受到、领悟到的不同色彩。系列E.P《Easterners》更在美国波士顿被邀请在国际爵士日演出。并在美国波士顿掀起了一波东方亚洲爵士音乐、现代音乐热潮。

“东方人”在“西方世界”享受着别样的东风情怀，感受艺术、人文、生活、爱好等多变的年代，随风逝去的青春孕育着这一群“东方人”内心的旋律和节奏，只有“东方人”才懂得“Easterners”。

被美国媒体誉为“当今乐坛的音乐领导者”;

曾被评为上海市优秀艺术工作者、荣获第二届希腊全球打击乐比赛，艺术家组亚军、新家坡打击乐比赛金奖、夺得香港“鼓王”的称号。

世界艺术音乐大师谭盾先生称其为“不可多得音乐先锋”

被联合国教科文组织称为“极具东方色彩的打击乐、爵士乐先锋”

被爵士大师JERRY BERGONZI称为“东方爵士乐的骄傲和未来”

毕业于美国新英格兰音乐学院，师从美国著名爵士乐大师Ed Saindon、Ken Schaphorst、Jerry Bergonzi、Hankus Netsky、Bob Moses、Bob Nieske、Dominique Eade、Nedekla Prescod等。

2014年开始，拥有第一只爵士乐队“CHUCHU and FRIENDS”，融合极具东方魅力的音乐色彩和风格，用颤音琴、马林巴等打各类打击乐的音乐色彩和语汇，在传统爵士的基础上，加入自己全新的编曲和即兴元素。将爵士音乐和东方音乐色彩有机的结合在一起。2016年起，推出一系列以爵士、现代、融合的音乐主题概念

2017年开始，荣辰初带领爵士乐团在美国波士顿进行巡演，掀起了一波美国东方爵士音乐的热潮。“EASTERNERS”更作为唯一一只亚洲人的爵士乐队上演于国际爵士日的演出。

作为打击乐独奏家的荣辰初2009年开始在世界各地进行比赛并屡获奖项;并开始作为打击乐独奏家开始在全世界巡演。包括: 联合国教科文组织、美国费城交响乐团、阿布扎比艺术全球峰会、美国洛杉矶盖提美术馆、法国里 昂交响乐团、荷兰皇家交响乐团、德国斯图加特交响乐团、意大利托斯卡纳交响乐团、荷兰鹿特丹 交响乐团等。除了与全球顶尖团体的签约合作之外，在与跨界、流行、摇滚元素的碰撞也是层出不 穷。参加过各类大型综艺选秀节目的录制包括“中国好歌曲”、“我是歌手”、“中国好声音”美国站、“杭 盖-交响摇滚”等各类演出。 此外，荣辰初小姐致力于发展中国音乐多元化以及全球音乐融合精神。在创作与演奏中，大胆创新， 开创了许多打击乐的新可能与大胆的突破。将音乐与艺术的结合推向一个更新的高度。并且作为多 个艺术节最年轻的策划人与发起人。并于2016年开始创办自己的教育平台“艺蕴音乐”，在第一个试点城市常州得到当地政府的大力支持。成功和常州著名文化艺术厂牌“运河五号艺术园区”开展第一届“运河五号音乐节“。另外，荣辰初还曾担任“音乐共和“项目艺术音乐总监、”摩登lab全球艺术聚合计 划“发起人、”音乐传奇“项目音乐总监、”全球音乐少儿培养计划“总策划等等。

World-famous The China National Traditional Orchestra will be at the Sadler's Wells between 20-22 July for three special Xuanzang's Pilgrimage performances presented by Piu Entertainment & Wu Promotion.

Featuring 24 live performers with magnificent costumes, an 80 piece traditional Chinese orchestra and breathtaking projections, this spectacular and mystical production of Xuanzang’s Pilgrimage tells a story of Chinese monk Xuanzang (602-664), who travelled the Silk Road across China on a pilgrimage to India, visiting Buddhist holy places and discovering sacred scriptures.

As the world's first traditional Chinese musical drama, Xuanzang’s Pilgrimage is epic in scale and themes, combining music from China's Han, Uyghur, Kazak and Tajik ethnic groups amongst others and featuring exotic instruments such as zither, Chinese harp, dulcimer and eagle flute, a celebration of the diverse but connected cultures found along the legendary Silk Road. Xuanzang perseveres to achieve his goal through challenges and reflections on his personal spiritual journey.

With a storyline based on Journey to the West, one of the Four Great Classical Novels of Chinese literature from the 16th century and best known in English-speaking countries in Arthur Waley’s translation Monkey, Xuanzang’s Pilgrimage is a fully-staged multimedia spectacular. With beautiful and intricate costumes and stunning scenography, this show will fire the imagination with its evocative colour and dramatic power.

Presented outside China for the first time, Xuanzang’s Pilgrimage is a unique musical journey into the soul and culture of China and the East.

The China National Traditional Orchestra (CNTO) is a state-level performing arts institution founded in 1960 and funded by the Ministry of Culture. Members of CNTO – comprising an orchestra of traditional instruments and a chorus – are highly-esteemed musicians both at home and abroad.
