Composer, educator and jazz artist Henry Butler has been on the scene for more than 40 years. Whether he’s playing music or taking photos, he’s always pushing the boundaries of the possible. Beijing Axis ensemble

The chamber music ensemble Beijing Axis was founded in 2014. The current three members come from the US, Taiwan and Spain and they all have profound experience in performing around the world. Beijing Axis is committed to introducing classic music and musicians in western music history to the audience in China.

Beijing Axis sticks to the completeness of the music, and reveals its original style and the logical links between their repertoires. Being faithful to the composers' score and respect the times they lived in is always the ensemble's first principle.

The flexible ensemble is professional in interpreting music from Baroque era to the 20th century, mainly the masterpieces by great musicians in western music history, such as Bach, Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Schumann, Brahms, Mendelssohn, etc. The ensemble plays in the forms of duo, trio, string quartet, piano quartet, string quintet, piano quintet etc., depending on the conditions of various stages. The passionate members of the ensemble look forward to bringing what they have in their hearts to all the audience who love classical music.

Verena Chen

Born into a Chinese-Japanese musician family 1993 in Hamburg, Verena Chen started to play the violin at the age of seven.

At the age of eleven, Verena entered into the pre-college of the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover and studied with Prof. Ina Kertscher .In October 2010 she was admitted into the class of Prof. Boris Garlitsky at the Hfmt Hamburg and since 2012 she is continuing her studies with him at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris (CNSM).

Verena has already won a vast array of first Prizes at the German National Competition for young musicians "Jugend Musiziert" in the category solo and also chamber music; the Hans Sikorski Memorial Prize of the German Music Foundation "Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben" the special prize of Erlangen for the best interpretation of contemporary music and is prizewinner at the International Competition for Violin of the "Culture foundation Hohenlohe" in Kloster Schöntal. Verena was awarded further prizes of the Philharmonic Orchestra Hamburg, the NDR Symphony Orchestra, the German music Foundation and most recently in 2013 she was awarded with a special Prize at the International Heifetz Competition in Vilnius.

Aurèle Marthan

« ... Aurèle Marthan belongs to the new generation of musicians who play with both virtuosity, simplicity and poetry, without showing-off his obvious dexterity ... » wrote Victoria Okada about his first recording of Ravel's works, recorded at the Fazioli Concert Hall in Sacile in Italy, released by the Polymnie label.

Aurèle studied piano and chamber music notably at the Higher National Conservatory of Music (CNSM) in Paris, at the Istituto Superiore di Cremona in Italy and at the Royal Academy of Music of London where he graduated (Master of Arts). He is graduated as well with Master's degree in chamber music from the CNSM in Paris with Itamar Golan.

New flamenco guitar class starts from next Saturday 11:00-12:00. We focus on work out how to control your rhythm feeling while you change the chord. Stroking a guitar is just like dance flamenco, you need to overcome your hands instinct movement to follow the groove roll.

Despite a lack of allegiance to any sound or place, since the release of their debut single "Alive", the slithering music industry indictment "The Lowdown" and the hip-swaying "4th Coming Bomb", the four piece has grown explosively and earned praise from Brooklyn Vegan, Indie Shuffle, Self-Titled, Live FAST, KROQ, 91X and LA Weekly and climbed the charts of Spotify, VEVO and Apple Music.

Their synth-driven guitar rock is a genre-bending blend of The Clash punk balladry, Primal Scream’s production infused meltdown, and the unflinching attitude of Oasis at its peak. It has catapulted them to the top of a booming independent movement in LA, where paisley, punk, and electronic influences have melted together in the endemic sunshine to become one of the nation’s most fertile scenes for emerging projects across a variety of disciplines.
