Pierre Pradat is one of the most requested musicians established in China. He has played thousands of shows all over the country at the greatest venues for more than a decade after relocating from France, including many for some of the top Chinese pop stars and movie directors. He is a highly versatile and creative artist, cultivating a mainstream jazz piano style balancing elegant lyrism and virtuosic energy with a great sense of swing. He is also specialized in playing Rhodes electric piano and analog synthesizers, and is very open-minded on other genre like Funk and Electronica. His main influences to name a few are Kenny Barron, Bill Evans, Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea and Keith Jarrett. He is also a very respected jazz educator, having taught to hundreds of Chinese students so far.

Lilith Liu is a jazz vocalist, graduated from renowned Tianjin Conservatory. She was given a full scholarship to pursue her studies of Musical Theatre Performance at Oklahoma City University. Although being a fresh addition to Beijing jazz scene, her already extensive stage experience has let her develop a unique repertoire. Through her careful selection of songs, she pays tribute to not only her main vocal influences like Nina Simone, Betty Carter, Anita O’Day or Ella Fitzgerald, but also to her inspiring musical heroes like Bill Evans, John Coltrane, Chet Baker or Art Blakey. Her vocal performance combines delicacy and technical mastery for soulful renditions of classics without neglecting improvisation essential to this art form.

This Friday, our favourite Queen of Folk EMBER SWIFT will bring her band of brilliant musicians back to Modernista. Get ready to be treated to a marvellous night of original electric folk compositions, she's going to tell you stories that can only be unfolded through music! She will also be performing songs from her brand new album.

『东京兄弟@TOKYO BROTHERS』is a group of Tokyo-born and Tokyo-bred musicians full of individuality. They will be performing original arrangementsof Japanese and Okinawan folk songs with rhythms from around the world. If you like authentic traditional Japanese music, you are in for a treat!

After more than two years of accumulation and creation, our second album (the first physical album)-"TNT NIGHT" has finally come out!

The overall style of this new album is very different from the band's past.

This time, we boldly tried to combine the classic sounds of electronic music with heavy metals. What is unexpected is that two originally unrelated music styles collide and roar with each other, and they can release such a huge energy.

Ten years ago, two young North drifters from the south, Li Bo (Chi Mu) and Jiang Zhongxu (Jiang Yuhang), began to work together to create a series of musical works with distinctive Western rock influence. At that time, these works were spread on Douban, and without any announcement, they quickly made a lot of movement in the circle by word of mouth. Thus, a Chinese blues rock band singing English lyrics-Jacky Danny came into being.

Relying on the sound and performance style with a great sense of the times, the band has quickly become a new generation of outstanding representatives of this kind of music branch in China. Many domestic and foreign music fans are amazed that this kind of music is made by Chinese people. However, over time, the band’s creators gradually became dissatisfied with staying in place within the existing framework. Unfortunately, at this time, everyone wanted to move in a far different direction, and it was difficult to bridge the differences. In the end, they had to choose to go their separate ways, with the stubbornness of their youth, to continue their music and career practice based on their respective ideas. Jacky Danny has since been frozen in the memory of many music fans, leaving only a batch of amazing works, and a burst of sorrow in the public.

Lilith was invited to perform on the Chinese premire and press conference of Oscar wining movie LALA LAND by its music department. As one of the youngest Chinese jazz diva,her collaborated with top musicians from New York,shanghai and Beijing, her already extensive stage experience has let her develop aunique repertoire. Classically trained pianist who taught himself jazz piano out of passion, the accomplished pop and jazz musician from Beijing also never fails to stun audiences with his deep baritone voice on the American songbook, an immediate reminder of vocal greats such as Nat King Cole and Dick Haymes.

In 2021, Caotai Echo's special planned series of performances-"Giant Blue Bluebloom", the huge blue bubbles will be rolled and boiled in Beijing Music Space and Shenzhen HOU Live on 4.30 and 5.16 respectively. The "Giant Blue" series of performances will look for new or long-lost bands all over the country. The style is not important. It only cares about whether it can create an illusory and romantic blue illusion. Imagine the giant blue sky above the giant blue feet. Waves, as for whether to go out with reinforced concrete or loess, I don't care about it for the time being.
