Liu Peiyi, jazz saxophonist and composer.


In 2010, he received a scholarship and was admitted to the Berklee College of Music, where he studied with jazz saxophonist George Garzone, jazz educator Ed Tomassi, Hal Crook, and Dr. Shannon LeClaire. In 2013, he obtained a bachelor's degree in jazz saxophone performance from the college. In 2014, he recorded and released his first jazz album "15 Years" in Boston. In 2017, he received a scholarship and was admitted to the New England Conservatory of Music, where he studied under the world-renowned jazz saxophone educator Jerry Bergonzi, Grammy Award winner Donny McCaslin, Jazz Pioneer saxophone musicians Mark Turner, Miguel Zenon, and followed Ken schaphorst and Frank Carlberg to study jazz composition, also took a year of band rehearsal in the band class of legendary jazz drummer Bob Moses, and obtained a master's degree in jazz performance from the school in 2019. . In 2019, he recorded and completed his second original jazz album "Flow of Soul" in Boston. As a professional saxophonist, Liu Peiyi has lived in the United States for many years, and has maintained cooperation with international musicians and has been well received. Join legendary contemporary jazz bassist Dave Holland at Brown Hall in Boston in 2019. In 2013, he collaborated with the famous American saxophonist Wealter Beasley on Wealter Beasley's classic work "Free" Liu Peiyi held saxophone lectures and special concerts in many music academies in China, including Zhejiang Conservatory of Music, Sichuan Conservatory of Music, Xi'an Conservatory of Music, Xinjiang Conservatory of Music Art Institute, Northwest University for Nationalities School of Music, and Beijing Midi School of Music, etc. Many of his students have been successfully admitted to the Berklee College of Music in the United States and the Prince Claude Conservatory of Music in the Netherlands.

Kyle was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, and grew up in Bloomington. He currently lives between Verona, Italy and Beijing, China, teaching and performing Jazz all over the world. He studied music performance and education at Berklee College of Music, Indiana University, and the University of Northern Colorado, completing his doctorate in 1995. In 1991 he received the prestigious Fulbright Grant for a year of pedagogical research in Hungary, exploring new methods of teaching improvisation.


For the last 30 years, Kyle has performed and taught in the United States, Italy, Canada, Sweden, Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, England, Spain, Romania, Germany, the Ivory Coast, Tanzania, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, Israel, Lebanon, Cyprus, Taiwan, Turkey, and China. He has performed with numerous internationally-known jazz and commercial artists, including Paul Motian, Vincent Herring, the Mingus Dynasty Big Band, The Temptations, and Liza Minelli. He has recorded over 50 albums with various artists and independent labels, including his original compositions Be Still and Know, World Downside Up and Tongues of Fire, collaborating with European jazz masters Paolo Birro, Salvatore Maiore, and Roberto Dani.

Meng Qingze, born in Beijing, is a young saxophone player. He has studied saxophone performance since childhood, and has successively studied with Mr. Zhang Kecheng and Mr. Lu Tingquan, the famous domestic saxophone players. Graduated from the Modern Music Department of Tianjin Conservatory of Music in 2016. In 2017, he went to Tokyo, Japan to study jazz, and in 2021, he graduated from the Jazz Department of the National University of Music in Japan with a bachelor's degree. The saxophone studied under the Japanese jazz saxophonist Atsushi Ikeda, and studied jazz composition, arrangement and ensemble with Japanese first-line jazz performers such as Kosone Makoto, Shiotani Tetsu, Inoue Tomo, Yamashita Yosuke, Nakagawa Eijiro, and Inoue Yosuke. During the four years in Japan, I collaborated with local jazz musicians and participated in many jazz festivals and jazz live performances. After returning to China in 2021, he will be engaged in saxophone performance, recording and teaching. Participated in the recording of the saxophone part of singers Huang Xu and Jude's songs, and participated in Jude's 2021 national tour. He also joined Bluenote Beijing Jazz Big Band, Actually Jazz Big Band, Senlin Jazz Big Band.
