The Slow Blade is the project of Dann Gaymer (Guiguisuisui, Nekroma, Shining Dimensions, Daftpop), a British born artist who has spent the past decade living in Asia and touring the world. The Slow Blade sound consists of electric folk and blues, mixing in elements of punk, post rock, and ambient music, accompanied live by improvised visuals to create dark vignettes of people, places, and conversations that will all one day be long gone. This intimate performace at Guru Hole will combine a live set as well as ambient techno DJ set featuring cassette tape samples set against visuals created through combining abstract paintings and analog photography processed through VJ software.

Lead guitarist Doug Martin, from the United States. He started learning music at the age of 12 and started with rock and blues guitars, and then also learned classical guitar. In 2006, Doug began obsessedly studying gypsy jazz. He studied under the gypsy jazz guitar master Paul Mehling and conducted systematic training of professional gypsy jazz. Doug has performed in cities all over the world, and has known many of the world’s top guitarists, such as: Tommy Emmanuel, Richard Thompson, Lollo Meier, Hank Marvin, and Larry Carlton. He has recorded and toured with Lulo Reinhardt and John Jorgenson quintet.

American guitarist, Doug Martin, started studying music at age 12. The first few years of musical study were spent playing rock and blues guitar. In 2006 Doug began to study gypsy jazz, the jazz guitar style attributed to Belgium/French gypsy guitarist Django Reinhardt and taking two introductory lessons with gypsy jazz guitarist and educator Paul Mehling. Doug hasmany great performance opportunities to meet many of the world's top guitarists including Tommy Emmanuel, Richard Thompson, Lollo Meier, Hank Marvin, and Larry Carlton just to name a few.
