Hailing from Kaohsiung in Taiwan, Fogbow was formed in 2013 and have since created quite a name for themselves in the Taiwan underground. The band kicks off their current China tour this evening at School Bar and follows it up with 15 more shows across the Mainland throughout September.

Worshippers of Joy Division, the band has created their own brand of meshed together post-punk, shoegaze, and trip-hop.

Perhaps you may have never heard of them, but give their tunes a listen online, and come check them out tonight!

With members hailing from and getting their musical start in their home of Yulin, Guangxi province, the band formed only a couple short summers ago after moving to Beijing and thereafter took the indie rock scene by storm. After signing with Maybe Mars, last August the band began recording their debut album "Human Nature Architecture" and it was officially released a couple months ago in June. Over the past 20 days the band has criss-crossed China and hit 16 cities in touring in support of the new release. Extremely talented and sure to continue to push the limits of their jangly mathy post-punk vibe in the coming years, this is not an apex for Backspace but merely a starting point for continued creations throughout their music journey. Tonight join Backspace as they share their album with fans and friends for the Beijing stop and final show of their album release tour.

Opening the evening are neo-psychedelic shoegaze outfit Last Goodbye and the alcohol infused noise of The Claptraps.

TianTang formed in 1992 and has been ever-present in the Chinese rock scene since that time. Having released countless songs, toured across China, and been a staple of the festival circuit, at some point the TianTang (Heaven) has no doubt caught your attention or appeared in your playlist.

Last year while performing at nearby Tango as part of an event for their 20 year anniversary celebration, the band learned about School Bar when talking with people back stage. After beers and a few more drinks, TianTang knew they eventually had to play a special one-off gig in the intimate atmosphere of School Bar.

The time has come, and tonight catch TianTang play the smallest stage they have in over 20 years!

Not a show to miss.

Platform K+K Vienna was founded in 2009 by Kirill Kobantchenko, a member of the first violin section of the Vienna Philharmonic. The ensemble is not an ensemble in the conventional sense but consists of a pool of musicians with permanent members who share a passion for the rediscovery of exciting, rarely performed chamber music.

While K+K is obviously a reference to “kaiserlich und königlich” (“imperial and royal”), it primarily stands for Kirill Kobantchenko. The greatest possible range of musical interests as well as working as a DJ have allowed for a development across different musical genres. Electronic music, Jazz and Crossover have influenced the activities of the ensemble.

See them live at the NCPA on September 23rd, playing works including Schubert’s Trout. For more information or for tickets, visit: http://en.chncpa.org/whatson/zdyc/201805/t20180509_185736.shtml
