Duanshuling is located in the northern mountainous area of Huairou, at the Baiquan Mountain range. With its unique geographical environment, mountains and abundant vegetation, it forms a unique natural landscape. The valley is filled with streams, and small waterfalls, with forest coverage reaching 95%.


Hike Information:


l Date: Aug.31st (Saturday)


l Drive time: 2 hours each way


【The route type】This route is mainly consists of dust+gravel roads, few rocky place. Some small streams need to be crossed.


【The route description】At the begining, the hiking route is relatively easy and clibming up slowly. While the middle section involves steep ascents and descents. Then we are through tourist area and climbing up in 1 km. After that, we are out of the tourist place. (The village will charge entrence fee around 10.00/person-20.00/person. Let's see when we are there.) It is a good practice route for beginners.

l Total ascent: 520m


l Total descent: 518m


l Peak: 769m


l Lowest point: 252m

Preparation:


1. Take at least 4 bottles of water. (Remember to drink and eat constantly on the trail, if you have to drink because you are thirsty you are not drinking often enough, if you need to eat because you feel weak you haven't been eating enough.)


2. Bring some lunch, and some snacks.


3. Hiking boots is necessary.‍

07.30: Departure from Dongzhimen (line2 exit B)


09.30: Arrive the place, beginning of hike


18.00: Arrive back in Beijing

When you register for this activity, you accept this cancelation policy.



2. Bad weather plan:We will message you 1-2 days before the hike to let you know about theweather condition. If there is a thunderstorm, heavy rain or strongwinds it will be dangerous to do the hike in the high mountains. Sowe will cancel it or change the dates.

North Spiritual Mountain to Yellow-Grass Mountain Hike - From North Lingshan to Huangcaoliang Crossing Line

Crossing North Lingshan, it is one of classical hiking routes. With high altitude and vast alpine meadows, this is one of the most popular routes around Beijing in summer time. We chose a route that offers a little bit of a challenge, but you definately can make it.


We will end of the trip at Huangcaoliang. Huangcaoliang, an alpine meadow stretched from east to west for several kilometers on the mountain, only a few months of the year, it turns green to green, most of the time it is dark yellow. Let's enjoy the precious moment.


Hike Information:


l Date: August 24th (Saturday)


l Drive time: 2.5 hours each way


【The route type】This route mainly consists of dust roads+grassy paths, with two steep slopes to ascend and descend. There is a 10.00RMB entrance fee.


【The route description】At the first section, there is an oberioulsy climbing up from the starting point to the summit of North Lingshan. There is a short shaded path through the forest, but the meadow area has no shade, so it's important to be well-prepared for sun protection. From the summit to Huangcaoliang, the trail is mostly downhill, with a bit steep section at the beginning. From Huangcaoliang to the GreatWall tower, the trail is uphill but slope is slowly. The last descent section mostly follows the valley, with a significant slope. It's recommended for using knee pads or trekking poles. Additionally, there are forks in the path; if you lose sight of the group ahead, please wait for the group behind to catch up.

l Total descent: 1220m


l Peak: 1884m


l Lowest point: 964m

NOTE:

Since 2014, we have continuously pursued excellence by refining internal staff training programs and enhancing activity risk assessment processes. This ensures that our coaching team can proficiently execute various activities while always prioritizing safety. In every activity, at least one coach with Wilderness Advanced First Aid (or higher) qualification is present on-site to ensure prompt and professional handling in case of emergencies.

For every Imagine camp, we have dedicated logistics personnel or teams responsible for handling all details to support the smooth progress of experiential learning activities. Introduction:
Explore renowned world heritage sites in Beijingin one day: Mutianyu Great Wall and the Summer Palace.


Mutianyu Great Wall has an extremely beautiful natural landscape. While visiting it, you will have a nice walk on the Wall, enjoying both the magnificent Great Wall and beautiful nature around it. We always leave enough time for our guests to walk on the Wall and take memorable pictures.


You can take the chairlift to go up and take toboggan (slider car) down from the Wall. You can also take cable car both up and down. The third option is taking cable car up, walking from the 14th watch tower to the 6th watch tower, and then taking toboggan or chairlift down. A private tour is very flexible. You decide your own way to explore the Chinese Great Wall.


Summer Palace is a well-preserved imperial garden. Renowned for its beautiful landscape and spectacular architecture, the Summer Palace has been listed in the World Heritage Sites and considered as one of the most classical gardens in the world.

1. In the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel or any other agreed upon location with a professional driver.


2. We will head to the Mutianyu Great Wall. It is about 1.5 to 2 hours to arrive there. On the way, you will see the beautiful view of rural Beijing. For most guests, walking on the Wall is once-in-a life-time experience. We always leave enough time for our guests to walk on the Great Wall and take memorable pictures. The visit takes about 2 to 3 hours.


3. Lunch (optional): We will have a la carte lunch at a very good local farmer’s restaurant. You will find some very traditional and unique home-made style Chinese food there. I can also show you to a hidden western style restaurant. Please feel free to let me know if you have special needs for the food.


4. After lunch, we will drive to Summer Palace. It takes about 1.5 hours to arrive there.


5. We will spend 1-1.5 hours to visit the Summer Palace. Immerse yourself in the Qing Dynasty imperial summer retreat and our guide will tell you the interesting history about this beautiful garden.


6. After the visit, we will drive you back to your hotel or any other agreed upon location and finish the happy day.

Itinerary:
During this tour, you will have a fun day and get the chance to explore the authentic old parts of Beijing. We will share you many interesting places and stories with our extensive working experiences!

4. Walking through the 786-meter long Nanluoguxiang Hutong: It is one of oldest districts in Beijing. Yuan Dynasty was built in the same period. It is China’s only complete preserved Hutong courtyard texture of Yuan Dynasty.

6. Yonghegong Lama Temple: It is one of the largest and most important Tibetan Buddhist monasteries in the world. A visit there will help you understand Chinese religions and beliefs.


7. The Bell and Drum Towers: These two towers were built in 1272, and rebuilt twice after two fires. They are visibly prominent constructions and represent the symbol of the old city.


8. Walking around Houhai Lake Area: Known as “Beijing ancient harbor”, this area has been the downtown business district since Yuan Dynasty.

Itinerary:
1. In the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel or any other agreed upon location with a professional driver.


2. the Forbidden City - It was home to 24 emperors between 1368 and 1911. It is the biggest and best preserved imperial palace in the whole world, with great square, halls and gates contrast with intricate halls, gardens, courtyards and quarters. You have to witness its magnificence and beauty on your own! It takes about 1. 5 to 2 hours and our guide will show you the history behind the grand palaces.


3. Jingshan Park: You can see the whole Forbidden City and the whole downtown Beijing on top of a hill in Jingshan Park. Our guide will explain the design character of the city to you.


4. Lunch time (optional): All our tours are foodie tours as well. We will have a la carte lunch at a local restaurant. And you will taste the authentic Chinese cuisine. Feel free to let me know if you have special needs for the food.


5. In the afternoon we will visit Summer Palace. Renowned for its beautiful landscape and spectacular architecture, the Summer Palace has been considered as one of the most classical gardens in the world. (Or Temple of Heaven: Walk along the middle axis and visit the three magnificent buildings！)
It takes about 1 to 1. 5 hours to visit the Summer Palace. It is about one hour to visit Temple of Heaven.


6. After that, we will transfer you back to your hotel or any other agreed upon location.

Transportation:
-For 1-2 guests, we will use Volks Wagenwerk or Hyundai or Toyotab car or similar type (5 seats).
-For 3-5 guests, we will use a BUICK GL8 business car (7 seats).
-For 6-20 guests, we will Ford or Kowloon business van or similar type (14 -23 seats).
All of them are clean & comfortable & air-conditioned vehicles.
