Learn the martial art Aikido (合気道) in the most rigorous traditional dojo in Beijing. Beijing Aikikai was founded in 2008 by a pioneer of Aikido in China, the highest ranking and only Japan-trained black-belt instructor residing in China (6th degree), a direct student of the art's founding Ueshiba family with 38 years’ experience in Aikido (plus other martial arts: Judo, BJJ, Kenjutsu, Krav Maga and others.), the author of the best-selling book "Aikido in Japan and the Way Less Traveled" and host of "Aikido Applied" on YouTube.
Aikido was created by legendary martial arts master Ueshiba Morihei from traditional fighting arts of sword, spear, staff and jiujutsu. Aikido can be translated as "the Way of harmony with the force of nature". The training serves as a path for unifying and polishing the body, mind and spirit to benefit your daily life. This is the Way of Aikido!
However, authentic Aikido is an applied martial art, not merely a philosophy, well-being system or form of amusement. Properly instructed, Aikido's throws, locks, pins and striking techniques, plus traditional weapons training (sword, staff, knife), forge a foundation for single and multi-attacker self-defense.
Beijing Aikikai is the headquarters of Jikishinkai China (CAikikai) which just one of the two Aikido groups in China directly linked to and fully authorized by the Aikikai World Headquarters (Hombu Dojo) in Tokyo. The instructor gives his own examinations and rank - up to 5th degree black belt, if you keep training (smile). Promotions are registered in Japan and your rank will be recognized world-wide.
Everyone is welcome to try. But note carefully, this is not a "Certificate Mill" or "McDojo" selling rank for profit of the operator. Our dojos are places of rigorous training seeking to help students become their best self. See www.beijingaikikai.com for more details. Contact us at beijingaikikai@gmail.com or via Weixin 北京合気会.
