Cicingstore is a small café in the FX Hotel near Liangma River that offers a handful of coffees and teas at RMB 20-22, as well as shelves full of prepackaged and assorted teas, chia seeds, energy bars, muesli, jam, nuts, coconut water, masks, and various home knick-knacks. In fact, their produce is so varied that you can even join a Spanish class organized by the owners.

Bombay Spice

Situated at the heart of the Liangmaqiao embassy area, highlights of Bombay Spice's menu are its authentic chicken tandoor, chicken/fish tikka, as well as a wide range of curries at decent prices. The chicken biriyani is the restaurant's must-try dish. Along with a perfect traditional indoor seating, they also have outdoor seating where you can enjoy the breeze while smoking a range of different flavors of shisha.

Honest Kitchen

Honest Kitchen is a cha chaan teng (literally tea restaurant), located in the basement of Grand Summit. On the doors and walls, countless auspicious blessings hang alongside photos of the kitchen's dishes and knickknacks to keep your eyes busy while you eat. The more popular dishes include Hong Kong classics like wonton noodle soup (RMB 32), fried turnip cake with XO sauce (RMB 28), Pineapple bun (RMB 13), and the milk tea.

Sansheng Shide

Sansheng Shide serves meaty shaomai (RMB 24-30), a type of steamed dumplings that originate from Inner Mongolia and have a thin, pleated outer wrapping. Choose between pork, pork with shrimp, beef, and vegetarian varieties and supplement with traditional Beijing homestyle dishes.

Maeda Coffee

Founded by Takahiro Maeda, Maeda Coffee was first established in 1971 in Kyoto, the same year that Starbucks was founded in Seattle, but Takahiro Maeda set Maeda Coffee for a different direction from the start. He picks the coffee beans from the small regions in Brazil, Colombia and Guatemala, personally roasts them, then sends them to different branches on the hand drip coffee. Opened as the first ever location outside Japan in Beijing, it specializes in hand drip coffee (RMB 58-98).

Coffee Cuore

Walking along the Liangma River, climbing up the stairs, and you would be welcomed with their greetings to warm you up. There are about six small tables for two to four people, and a large table for a group of people in the brightly lit, floor-to-ceiling room. Thankfully it’s not minimalist décor, and there are flowers on each table. The counter is on the deep right with luxury Ditting coffee grinder, and La Marzocco espresso machine, showing how seriously the owner took their coffee.

The Bvlgari Bar

Formerly known as Il Bar, this aperitivo sanctuary is located on the first floor of the luxury Bulgari Hotel, making it a swish hangout for the Beijing elite, and with prices to match. Enjoy cocktails, fine wine, and champagne at the signature oval bar or on the outdoor terrace, overlooking the riverside.
